Bert, the league would have been initially set up without ghosts so if you just pull the ride from your Leagues tab you'll be on your own. If you went to the league results page and challenged someone you would have their ghost for company and the ghosts of anyone they had challenged. That's the simple way anyway, which is what I tend to do although I think there is a way of selecting a wider range of ghosts which some of the guys here have figured out. Trawl the last ten pages or so and I think you'll find the details of how to do that.
Thanks Bill,
didn't see me on the league either! or doesn't it go down that far !!!:laugh:

I'm with you Bonno, and by that I mean trying to sit in your wheeltracks for maximum drafting effect. Apparently Rick's going to be there too and we're taking turns at the front. At least that's the plan, until it isn't ;).
Rick isn't sure what to do tonight! Ideally would team up for some drafting but squash last night has left my knees feeling strained. No sharp pains but a dull soreness letting me know I overdid it and it's definitely not muscle soreness either. Not sure if cycling would loosen me up or break me! :B)

Just a quick question - When I look at the Ranking tab for a particular ride on the Bkool site I see the list of all past participants timings. There is a Group column and I see that most of you have one of this forums Groups listed against your names - be it Chain Gang, Mountain Goats/Mooses or plain Bkool.

What do I need to do to become one of the gang - is there an 'initiation' test I have to complete
Bkool logic works in mysterious ways. One of the mysteries is why you don't se your own group name in the rankings (others see it). Another mystery is which group is displayed if you are a member of more than one group.

Chuckling quietly to myself because I haven't got to do it again and yet starting to get jealous....what if I just sat in Bill's wheel behind Rick and Bono and then nipped out for the hill at the end:bicycle::bicycle::bicycle::bicycle:. I will look in if I get a chance!

Thanks for that LBHIFI - There was me thinking I was going to have to provide video evidence of my Karaoke performance down at my local last Friday night to be allowed in. :girldance:

At least the 'world' can see that this forum covers all different levels of ability when they review the ride rankings - but they only list the top 50 times, so unless I filter on the Male Veteran 3 category I rarely appear.

Hi Mark. Out of interest, is your speed proportional to the registered watt output or not? If it is you're going to be doing 40+ on the flat and about 20mph up Alpe d'Huez. If you're in the chain-gang tonight it'll be interesting to watch you.
I don't think I've ever had a proper warmdown of any sort on the turbo as it's been a case of stop pedalling at the first opportunity and collapse on the ground. I don't think I'd last as a non virtual world turbo rider because I lack the self discipline to torture myself without my mind being fooled into enjoying it. What is frightening is how easily my mind is fooled . Have you joined the Mountain Goats yet?

Hello Bill. The speed shown on the flatter bits of the course match my garmin wheel sensor to within about a mph ( but thats about 3 mph more than i would expect compared to my old tacx fan turbo where i would expect to sweat blood to ave 23 mph for the hour) but the inclines are way too fast and easy. you're right, I did alpe d'huez on the big ring....50 x 16. The downhills are also way to fast so clearly the programme uses the watts to adjust the road speed. Hoping it's the xp pro o/s that's making the sim miss read and miscalculate rather than a trainer problem. I'll try to get online tonight and whip you all with the overcalcs.....I can hold 1185w for the hour which must be as high as it counts....in real terms it's more like 250-300w I would think. I am not going to save anymore rides until I can get my Laptop back..waiting on a call this pm.

on Bkool it looks like tonight's chaingang is a 2 laps of the Loughborough phoenix evening 10 circuit - 10 miles? is that right? it gives a week to complete it...so you can ride it any time you like as a solo ride but Thursday 1900is THE time.....go like +uck as soon as the flags pulled in & hold on for 23 minutes whilst chewing stem...

You are describing next Thursdays ride. Tonight's ride is called something like Tour of Britain stage 3....someone will put me right on that. It's cycle like mad for half an hour on the flat then hit the hill from hell for another 30 minutes!

I think you're looking at Stage 2 there - tonight is Stage 1 which is "Tour of Britain 2014 Stage 3".

I think.....

I have just attempted the chaingang stage 1 for the second time got dumped out again after almost the same distanc as last time 22km by which time I was cooked as apart from booting me it was throwing up strange resistances I was cruising along on a 0.5% incline to suddenly feel like I hit 15% and had to drop down to the lowest gear just to turn the pedals over and 10 secs later back to 0.5% ? Made the mistake of having wind on also and at one point I had a 26km/h headwind :cursing:

I then attempted again, I must be mad :banghead:only to get dumped at about 17km after the middle hill so that's 60km along that flat and I haven't completed the stage yet. I can't see me doing it again:wacko:

I'm sure you're well fed up with it all after all that.
What's the plan to try and solve the issues?
