Would it be possible to add me to the Bkool cycle chat rides? - Bkool name: Jon

On a different note, i'm having trouble with my new trainer. Something (The fan blades?) are catching causing the wheel to lock up. Is this a common problem. Have I not unpacked the trainer correctly or have I got a duff one?

I did try to draft LB but i just couldn't get it right. I suspect its much harder to do in a virtual environment or perhaps its just me. Reading David Millars latest book and its really interesting when he writes about the peloton and conserving energy by, say, drafting and then putting on the power to string things out especially where they anticipate cross winds.
Your power was going from about 400-100, so you were constantly dropping each other, I wonder how fast we could go with a team effort? Nothing better that a group of about 6 in a changing on the road....

Hi Jon. You're accepted onto the Chaingang but looks like you haven't requested to join the Mountaingoats yet.

Are the fan blades on your trainer rubbing against the round disc cover? If so, remove the cover to check that the catching has stopped. If this works then ask the supplier for a new cover to solve the problem. If this is not the problem then you will need to ask for a complete new unit.

Not sure if it was a battle or a massacre every time I forced my lungs out of my body to catch up with you you cleared off and at the end you apparently got a tow from a very fast car.

Just came across a bkool event which sounds really interesting.

Fancy racing against the 1997 tour de France winner Jan Ullrich?

Only problem being it's on a Thursday chaingang night but you'll be finish before 7pm anyway!

And then you inevitably have to take a stand regarding doping. My take is that at that time it was as natural as taking an energy gel. Yes, maybe there were a few who refused, and could have mingled with the greatest, but this was the exception to the rule. So one has to either ignore cycling history, or accept reality. I choose to accept reality (still feeling strongly against doping).
Whew, that sounded serious...sorry about that:rolleyes:.

Being as I just got an email to tell me that you beat me by 4 seconds I can only assume the classic is much easier

Usually I get emails to say I have been beaten by 12 minutes, they don't hurt they are a long way away, but 4 seconds, that is the time I lost going to turn the fan on because I had forgotten to do it at the start. Now I am going to have to go and do the damned section again.
