Tales of woe from the 'Back of the Peloton' - I thought this mallarky was supposed to be fun.

Last night I thought I'd get back on the trainer for the first time since Thursday's Chan Gang stage, which really took it out of me.

I can't believe it, as when I was climbing onboard I put my weight down on the pedal and the next thing I know I'm lying on the garage floor with the bike on top of me still attached to the turbo. A bit of blood from catching the pedal down the back of the leg and my arm from landing on my toolbox.:cursing:

Anyone know where you can get some stabilisers for these things.;)

The brave soldier that I am, I checked the gear out and climbed back on and started my planned ride - Colle della Maddalena, a nice 4 mile climb and the a 4 mile descent.

Well I got over the top and thought a nice little downhill before my tea. About halfway down my wife's laptop kindly informs me that it has encountered an error and needed to reboot - 2nd crash of the night, I couldn't believe it and thought is this the right thing for an overweight 64 year old to be doing on a Sunday evening.

Anyway when I got back into the house, the wife asks me what that loud crash was and said I hope it wasn't my laptop. I said the first crash wasn't but the second was - I think she agrees with me, I must be mad. :wacko:

Yes, Bob's becoming more and more worrisome by the day :ohmy:. At this rate the day might come when 500 watts won't be enough :sad::notworthy:.
No pressure Bob :laugh::laugh::laugh:

:blush:^_^
I don't know about worrisome, more like wearisome. I am getting no bike or bkool time at the moment so any fitness or power i have is seeping away. And then theres the general pre xmas excessxx(

Thanks Rick. Much appreciated^_^. I would have a go this evening but I'm still determined to have another go at this weeks chaingang. If I can't improve my 7th place I think i'll just have to accept the new order of things :sad:.

edit: As per LB's post above
Just got the anticipated 'You've been challenged and beaten' email. :cycle:
Did my ghost give you a draft at all Bill or how did it pan out?

I wish!! I possibly didn't get the greatest of starts but I could not catch your ghost until almost the start of the hill. It was killing me just to keep the gap behind you the same so I kind of gave up. I got ahead of you on the first part of the hill but then you just kept with me 1.5 - 2 mins the rest of the climb. That was a long 40 mins!!

Yeah, pretty tough course to judge. Knew I'd get hammered on the hill though. Less than two minutes down is a decent result for me though :thumbsup:
