Plenty to have a look at there :okay: - Have clicked some of the links so far and there's some nice looking sessions there so I'm sure I'll get enough from all that. Top work guys!! :hugs: Think I've spotted what will be the End of month Epic already

Quite like the look of this one ... for us Mooses, we will get those lighter Moose (like me), get to the top of the hill, only to be overtaken on the other side by the more gravity assisted Moose  Followed by a mad 'dash' to the line LOL
19.3km LBHifi (Mallorca) Hill start then descent and flat - http://www.bkool.com/profile/detail/723075?durationType=DISTANCE&lapCount=1

TBH, I'm OK with any ride. They are all painful in their own special way :heat:

Sorry Whorty, was just finalising the 4 stages there so didnt see your recommendation but I've loads there to keep me going for the next couple of months too!! ^_^

New league can be previewed at : http://www.bkool.com/classification/showIndividualLeagueClassification/1597 and should be live tomorrow.

There will be some climbs, which some will call hills, but others will insist on calling mountains!

Nice one Rick. My apologies in advance to everyone for stage 4 - that hill towards the end is a bit nasty

Looks like great fun though - a good mix of rides I think

cheddar gorge, I'll be slowing down to look at the scenery

Got my bearings wrong, the descent is down cheddar, the hill is out of Wookey hole. I've not ridden that hill before, when I visited I went up Tynings lane and then up the old Bristol road back towards Chew Valley Lake.

When is the latest you can ride each stage @RickB ? Is is closed straight after the Saturday 5pm re-run? Asking as I am away next week until Sunday but would really like to try and complete all the stages this time if I can

Bkool usually messes up the dates. I rode one of the last league stages on a Sunday. They may even be available on the Monday.

Kipsters right. You should be grand on Sunday and likely a Monday too but bkool timing is quite erratic!!

Hi Guys,
I read your comments on BillS's wall, but for some reason I couldn't reply. I wonder what we could do to see what variations there are between the different types of trainers. I'd be more than happy to be a Guinea Pig to get some good comparisions between the Bkool and Vortex. Here's some information from the few times I've been on BKool and Zwift:

I notice on BKool that as the gradient gets steeper +8% my power seems to go down, I guessed this was to do with BKool trying to make my effort realistic. I haven't analysed the numbers but it seems to be this way. I'll try and look more closely at the numbers.

The first stage of Mountain Goats was difficult at the start, I felt like I should be going fast on the small descents. I'm killing myself pedalling but don't get much over 50kph, this seems consistant with what others have said. I don't seem to see this problem in Zwift.

I did an ftp test in Zwift, which as far as I know they normalise the gradient so the Vortex should have not problems with this. My result was calculated at 320watts, which is very similar to what I did on the first stage.

I've not done an FTP test in BKool, but happy to give it a go to see what comes out, or if you guys have any other suggestions. It would be great to create a proper level playing field, even for the simple reason there are so few guys with Vortexs I'd be in a very small league if we split by trainer.

Any thoughts?
Thanks

Hi Rob.
Thanks for letting us know your thoughts on this situation. I was going to leave it a while to see if this would be the same on each stage or get some idea on how it varied depending on the gradient of the slope. In your case there does seem to be quite a difference on the goat rides, although probably not such a problem with the chain gang.
I don't seem to be able to get into the bkool website right now so I don't know if anyone else has written about it on my wall. Maybe not the best place for such discussions but no harm done I'm sure.
I agree with you that it would be best if we could all stick in one bunch for the results rather than split up into different trainer groups. The only question is how do we do it? Can we find a variable (x) that the vertex riders time could be multiplied by dependent on the average gradient where x could be <, =, or > 1. Any mathematical wizards out there who could figure this out if we can gather the necessary data? :addict:
It may be that until we figure something out, the difference could be so much that we have to split the standings at least unofficially and announce the final results separately.
Any ideas anyone?
We ideally need to find a suitable variable to apply dependant on average gradient, and make it so that all vertex rides could be held for approval so the variable could be applied (for example stopping just before the end).

Brilliant, thanks Rick and Kipster, I will ride it at the first opportunity on the Sunday and keep fingers crossed!
