:shy: Hahahhaha ! you should see my Spanish then!. I think that your observation says more about the average English of Spaniards than about my own. But thank you, anyway! I lived a couple of years in Oregon and I learnt a lot from a cute girlfriend there :girl:

You guy's both do well with English, there's no way the majority of us Brits could reciprocate in either Spanish or Danish.

PS LBHIFI, there was plenty of Danes in the Streets of Alberg last time I was there (1992), in that street of wall to wall bars. Pity I was on my way to Norway and couldn't stop.

Lol, that would be the infamous "Jomfru Ane Gade". Everyone here knows about that street. Never been there myself.

Not quite Denmark but I used to visit Flensburg quite a bit as well when I had a girlfriend in Schleswig back in the early 1980's.
Always fancied the beaches on Sylt as well, can't think why!

Whorty you must be about 21 then because to me that is the wrong side of 40.
Me, I'm very much the right side of 50 and have the joy of realising that as you get older you find even more women attractive which is a real bonus in life as your day gets brightened up more often.
Make the most of it fella, cos when, like me, you get the wrong side of 60 your day tends to get brightened up more by the sight of a decent cup of coffee :cuppa:

Haha, you're absolutely right .. I'm 46 soon so not young in some circles (and definitely over half way through my life on this little planet), but on here I seem to be a veritable kid :biggrin:

You stumbled onto the secret but obvious fact.
If you have a big fan doing the cooling then sit it behind you blowing forwards thus giving you a tailwind.
If you put it up front then you have a premenant headwind and loose a couple or more kph.

Here it is.
I created a 2km course in 500m sections. The downhills were 8% and the up were 6%.
For the first transition I just pushed off from the top of the hill and turned the pedals enough to stop the session timing out.
My speed flat lined a 73 kph and I just turned the pedals slowly with about 25 watts on and I pedalled into the slope transition like that.
The result was I as hit the 6% climb my speed dropped of to next to nothing in a few meters with no noticeable power spike.

For the other transition I pedalled hell for leather into the transtion in my biggest gear then cut the power right of at the very foot of the climb and changed into my lowest gear and turned the pedals over slowly.
This time it took 200 meters for the speed to drop of and I had a huge 1300 watt power spike and I was litteraly not pedaling.

This just goes show the huge advantaage you can gain by going into a transition power on and of course your average watts will get a big boost from the spike.

BillS - Do you fancy challenging this and repeating the exercise on a Pro Trainer.
I am going to do this again and next time keep the power on at the second transition and on the first kick it in at the very foot of the climb.

Ok, as you can see I've done it twice after first doing the mtn goat league ride. Trying to stay as close to your ghost during this test wasn't nearly as easy as I thought. On my first attempt you were so far ahead I had to do it again to try and be closer for a better comparison. Funnily enough your speed downhill, even with almost zero power on was way too much for me to keep up. You can see that I powered up to try and stay with you on the second downhill but to no avail. I did however catch and overtake you on the first uphill due to the pro's slingshot when we hit the first hill without power. I got enough of a lead on you to almost be with you when we hit the next downhill (your 400 watts or so was a bit of a challenge for me having just done the goat ride) and again you left me on the downhill. This time when we hit the upslope but at full speed and cadence I felt the resistance tighten as usual but my guy was still speeding along and flew past yours to be 10 seconds ahead. My power spike appears to be only about half of yours but my speed advantage hitting the upslope was much greater.

Hi TT.
You can request to join our Mountain goats group if you like. As for initiation, which you appear to be volunteering for, I suggest you complete all this months Rides (which are still all open) before the closing time, which is 31st January. :bicycle::bicycle::bicycle:
Enjoy!

Edit: You're now in the mountain goats group and league so the rides await you.
