Decided to ride the Col D' Aspin this afternoon.
While setting up the ride I noticed another cyclechat rider in the list and 'stupidly' selected them to join me. - What a mistake.

This persons ghost pushed me up the climb the entire way, and I think i've broke my trainer trying to keep up. (My legs currently feel broke too!).

There's now something catching in the trainer making pedalling quite a bit harder.
The worrying thing is this isn't the first time i've had this problem with a bkool trainer. I ended up taking a bkool trainer back to the shop after only having it for 1-2 rides because the flywheel was catching. Now it looks like I might have the same problem again!

Is it possibly due to the bits of tyre rubber that seem to be all over the roller? Is there anyway to fix this trainer (its the classic white one)?

Hi chaps

I did my first chain gang ride this morning ("The randy roller in Sitka"). I meant to get involved last week but have been struggling to find time...

I completed the course in the rather unimpressive time of 50 odd minutes. I was just wondering why my time isn't showing up on the individual standings. Is it because I'm late to the party or am I doing something wrong?
You're sorted now Tommy. It just needed approval due to heart rate and weight. Happens all the time so don't worry about it. Good to have you racing with us! :okay: Hopw you enjoyed the session.

Anyone know what's going on here?

I was quite 'happily' riding a session when the usual 'Do you want to end this session' message popped up. Refused to restart.

Then I got the above message when trying to restart a session. Nothing has changed on the PC which otherwise works just fine.

Clues? Thanks.

It looks like the pc has lost the dongle.
Take the usb stick out and put it back in again.

I had a similar problem 2 months ago with the turbo making a real loud clicking noise at a particlar gradient. Prior to this i had noticed a lot of tyre rubber over the unit so some would have gotten in around the roller. I blame alpe dhuez. Bkool offered to have the unit back for a repair but the noise subsequently went away. Having just done Col de la Madeleine on friday the noise has reappered as has tyre debris - tyre slipping at the higher gradients. Maybe a good vacuuming might help??

Tried that. Normally if I get the 'end session' message mid ride, that sorts it. However this is new. Removing the dongle (on an extension cable and 5cm or so away from the device) makes no difference. Changing the cable makes no difference. Using a different USB socket makes no difference. Plugging the dongle into the socket does get it working, but historically this always creates problems and the general advice seems to be use a cable to get the dongle close to the device.

The only change is the update to the latest BSIM software. Everything else is the same as it had been for months without any real problems.

Unless anyone else has any ideas I will try using the dongle plugged in directly to the PC & see how it goes.

Confession, I'm not sure if I'll get a chance to do the Randy Roller, so I've set my son on it. He's not as fast or strong as me weighing it at a 55kg he'll have the disadvantage of my weight on the ride. I'll do the ride, maybe tonight if I get a chance or tomorrow. We didn't get out this morning but he needed to do a ride as we are planning a Mallorca ride and he works Saturday so doesn't get out with the club.

If he does it quicker than 40 minutes I'll eat my hat and feel free to add a bit of time as a penalty.
Would he be prepared to do a few of the League runs for me as well?

Due to restrictions with the plug lengths and where I can get an internet signal in my garage I've got my laptop (dongle) and the trainer a good 12ft apart and i've never had any problems with the laptop picking up the signals from the trainer. (I am however using the classic trainer which could be different. )

I use one of those cheap low res projectors shining onto the back of the garage door. It's fine for most bkool videos (nice large screen), but I can't quite read some of the text.

Looks like my attempt needs a a bit of help to make it into the league table.

I'm sure a couple of others will be along this evening to help me move down the table to my rightful place.
