@Baldo Mero, could you please let us know the Tacx model you are using with the Bkool simulator? Also, we would appreciate if you could let us know your user email account at Bkool, you can send that on a private message if don't want to post it here. We will try to find out why the virtual speed is no working for you :thanks:

@Bkool - I used a Tacx Neo trainer... however I only borrowed the trainer to compare and see how it worked on the bkool software.

@Baldo Mero - you might want to look at https://www.cyclechat.net/threads/bkool-race-results-and-watts.194677/post-4134881 where @Bkool have just replied saying what they've already said to Geoff:

"Hi folks,

This new feature (virtual speed for compatible smart trainers) is only for premium users, reason why it isn't working for Geoff, as he is a free Bkool user. If you have a premium account and a compatible smart trainer, this should be working for you just fine.

We hope this helps."

- and point out to them what you've said above!

I am ecstatic to confirm that bkool were correct, and having signed up for a premium account and done a quick test my KICKR is now getting the benefit of freewheeling downhill! :wahhey:

52 mph without pedalling ... thank you so much. If only I'd had this last February!

Geoff - currently cycling down Mont Ventoux at c. 50 mph without actually pedaling at all. :-)

Your a hard taskmaster Geoff, and I love it.

I can't believe just how disproportionately excited I am getting in anticipation of this race. I worry I'm setting myself up for dissappointment.

Probably cock up my start or have to work late.
So much talk about this race ...and I'm gonna miss it!

Ah well, always next time!

Whey hey! At last! Happy days for all non-bkool users. That levels the playing field for more courses now (except hilly ones!)

Yes, I am still premium. I have not given up yet but I am not a happy camper. Have not had any discussion on the matter yet, but you can mention to them that the premium excuse is bullshit in my case

Having got it working for the KICKR, it seems likely that they will sort it for the very popular Tacx trainers as well. Fingers crossed for you, I remember from when I had a bkool pro that the rests on the downhills were so important ...

Of course, if they fix it before the handicap race you'll have to start alongside Jacob...

Just trying to keep up my reputation!

For the KICKR at least, they're at a distinct disadvantage on the very steep climbs. For my 80kg, anything above about 11% is increasingly harder on the KICKR. The first time I hit 18%+ I thought my pedals had locked up... (just like in real life)

However, slight differences here and there, and more realistic resistance on the very steepest bits can be lived with;
loosing 30mph+ on the descents was a show stopper.

Hope they get it fixed for the other trainers soon.

The kickr and hopefully neo users are getting something back . But they are working harder on the steeper climbs that bkool can not simulate .
