Hey, I've been relying on RickB to fill me in on all the info so thought I had better join and at least get the chance to thank Geoff for all his effort in putting this together myself.

Sadly during the race I seemed to be caught between those who I couldn't catch and those who were flying past me towards the end - a few names spring to mind.

Must go now and look for some anti-sickness tablets

Didn't anyone get in the way of the steamroller known as AAAC?!?

Sorry, my style tonight probably wasn't in the spirit of the race.
I was considering gathering a group as I went along but with the rolling start I thought this would be an ideal opportunity to take on Jacobs time from the last league as he pipped in on a Sunday and took my podium.
Well I not only had the benifit of a rolling start but also had one or two into draft out of draft sling-shots on the way and managed to nip in 18 seconds under Jacobs time.
On the other hand I have just probably increased my handicap.

Hi, great race an particularly interesting for me.... The good news is that Bkool support has been digging on my lack of virtual speed support and they sent me today a beta version to try.... it works so I finally saw the blue numbers and reached 60 kmh in some downs
The bad news is that I have made exactly 5 seconds less than on the official run of this stage in the January League, despite pushing more watts :banghead:. And only 3 minutes better than the trial I did the day before yesterday when I was quite tired and didn't push. The data are interesting:

January league: Time 47:01 180W average 3.2W/Kg - No virtual speed
Tuesday solo trial: Time 49:54 169W avg. 3W/Kg - Nov virtual speed
Today handicap run:Time 46:54 198.3 avg 3.5 W/Kg - Virtual speed in beta

The main observation: I spent A LOT of time in blue numbers. From lack to excess... Some of the time was for faster speed, in downhills, but most of it was in flats and in uphills, even in 1-3% slopes. Actual wheel speed was much faster than bkools speed a significant amount of time (My garmin edge shows the broadcasted trainer's speed so I could compare). And in regular 4-6% climbs, where my vortex should not reach maximum resistance yet, virtual speed was rather slow.

So.... I don't know if I like it much. It will be OK if I can keep up with other riders in the races for fun, but I still think that it is unfair. And about today's handicap.... I don't think that I had any chance, needs revision :shy:

@Norseman are you Runar on Bkool? I assume you are?

We did manage to work together for a short time but by the time I caught you, the finish was looming fast! I only just held you off at the end - I think we spurred each other on!
That is right. I kept it up to the bitter end and thought I was going to pass out at the finish line but so were you by the look of it.

I thought your style was perfect, and totally in keeping with the spirit of the event. I was watching your little blue thingy make its way through the pack to me, and tried to hold you off to the finish, but to no avail.
Randy I have to say was my main adversary, and he only really came into play in the last 7-8 minutes, but by that point I was pretty much cooked. I think we all took off like greyhounds at the start, but AAAC is the only one who actually has greyhound DNA.

It was neat watching all the riders converge as we approached the end...starting to regret giving my all, saturday is going to be considerably less satisfying.

A big thanks to @bobinski for letting me draft for a little bit up that hill. You was the only other rider I saw all race .... I saw lots of dust that I presume were others zooming past me!

A pleasure Whorty. I thought we might work together for longer but I was hoping to dip under 35min and I kinda knew I had no chance but had to keep going.

what am I doing wrong then chaps. I was on the sim in plenty of time, warmed up and ready for the official warm up at 1900. I could see the liam ride in leagues but not in the live rides. clocks ticking and I am scrolling through the live rides for the next few minutes but no sight of the liam ride. In the end I rode it by myself from the leagues tab after seeing a couple of cycle chatters flitting onto 'my' page and going off again. It cant be that hard to sort? I was expecting the ride to appear in live when whoever started the warm up kicked it off around 1900 then get ready 10minntes later when the ride originator stops pedaling and the ride counts down to start proper. Thats twice I have been ready to go and then couldnt find the ride on live. Do I have to scedule the ride on the website before I can see it in the sim?

Nowt wrong with it at all AAAC. I tried to keep you at bay and then stay with you when you caught and overtook me but having to turn over 480/500w to do so is way beyond me. Very impressive.

Dear AAAC
Mayi ask what bike you have on your bkool ? It hasn't got Suzuki written on the tank has it ? I saw you coming and thought ' i will draft this whirlwind for a bit ' i nearly fell off my bike from the backdraft as you hurtled by ! i couldn't help giggling at myself for even thinking of catching your backwheel - very impressive sir

If you can't see it in live, you need to use the filter at the bottom of the sim
