I must of missed that one.
If Adski wants 7 then I want 10.

You can get stuffed! After the hounding you gave me, we should be level pegging!I must of missed that one.

I've collected a few over the last 18 months and tbh they are pretty much a mature tech now. I've got garmin run, wahoo tickrX and tickr and scosche rhythm plus. Electrical and optical and they tend to read almost identical.I'm quite new to this bkool thing and am getting quite into it, I hear lots of talk about monitoring HR so was just wondering what is the best monitor to look at getting and some advise on what rate etc I should be trying to keep at for best training, I understand its not a simple explanation so any advice will be gratefully received.![]()
Bound to be ok for tomorrow's race I

8pm GMT works better than 7pm GMT for me as I'm more likely to be able to avoid a meeting conflict. It's too bad there aren't more US riders on bkoolGetting the Handicap's correct for a first run is tricky, so running a stage several times makes sense.
How was the Tuesday night at the slightly later time? It seemed fairly well attended!
If this Tuesday slot works well, we could run the Handicap chases then, so as not to interfere in the Thursday night Chain Gang? We could also run them as a league, without getting in the way of the Chain Gang league, and overlap them.
That would allow us to perhaps run one stage from the Chain Gang (or elsewhere) several Tuesday's over a few weeks, and hence get the Handicaps tuned for the final run? It would also mean just one Handicap Chase a week, so you guys had a chance to recover and do the Chain Gang, Goats and other sessions you want to do.
What do people think, is there demand for a Tuesday Handicap, repeated a couple of weeks in a row with gradually tighter Handicaps?
As the races tend to be full on, choosing slightly shorter stages may mean a bit less strain, I would say the current stage length (31-52 minutes) is about the limit.

Top man. ThanksI've collected a few over the last 18 months and tbh they are pretty much a mature tech now. I've got garmin run, wahoo tickrX and tickr and scosche rhythm plus. Electrical and optical and they tend to read almost identical.
There are a couple of quirks to know about. The electrical need a good contact to get a reading, damp rather than soaking wet, once you start working you will sweat enough to keep the good connection. The optical need the sensors to be fairly firmly in place to prevent light leakage. The newer sensors are less affected by skin tone.
I also now have a forerunner 235 with a built in optical hr sensor. Works well but was bloody expensive
My preference atm is the scosche rhythm+. It is dual protocol ant+ and ble. 5 or so hour battery life (rechargeable). And a lot easier to put on once you are all ready to go. Mine is usually on my left forearm.
Go for the more modern soft straps if you want to go for a chest strap. The wahoo's are also dual ant+ and ble.
HR is so individual that a rate can not be advised. There are loads of sites that give advice I use this one.

Once I got a set of power zones the hr followed fairly closely. The advice seems to be train by power as hr is too variable.
I knocked up the Handicaps for the results posted, and got some suspiciously high fitness athletes with quite high handicaps... might have to tweak those for an initial run. Also, need to fill in others.

I have scheduled a session, with some ghosts around my level, for the tin can ten for Friday. It'll probably start around 6pm if any one wants to jump on to get a time for Geoff to do his magicI knocked up the Handicaps for the results posted, and got some suspiciously high fitness athletes with quite high handicaps... might have to tweak those for an initial run. Chaingang league was due to start today but still isn't active for some reason. Bound to be ok for tomorrow's race I assume as it lists it as starting on the 10th.
See you all at 7pm.
