7pm I'll start the warm up leaving you all 10 minutes to join in - Race will start at 7:10pm. Join only from the LIVE tab. If you cant see it use the filter and search for 'Rick' If I'm not there, you're in the wrong race!

I was about to write in one of the above posts how it's much easier to join the ride tonight as it's a standard league ride and not a handicap race with the additional quirks for joining. Then I realised it's still easy to cock up, particularly when you're new to it - eg problems finding the ride; looking in the league tab instead of live tab; starting it yourself from the league tab; joining the wrong ride that someone's started from the league tab; glitches that mean the ride starts before the warm up's finished - etc. etc.

And the handicap rides have even more potential pitfalls!

And it highlighted how un-user friendly and illogical the Bkool system is (particularly for league rides), considering this kind of social riding is what it's meant to be designed for to a large extent!

Thank goodness we have clever and patient admins prepared to put the time in to making these rides work despite the best efforts of Bkools own systems!

Nope, just refresh your 'live' tab just after 7 and it'll appear all being well

I'm tempted but to be honest I want to see as little of your jersey as possible.

I'll try and jump on your tail when you come by and try this drafting lark though. with my eys closed.

Everyone starts together tonight - except for Adam. He has to start at 7:15 so that no-one has to stare at that shirt during warmup.

Forgive my stupidity again lads, but if we all start off together tonight at 19:10 hrs then why has Geoff put up a table with handicap times as i am down at 6:30 which i assumed i didn't start tonight till 19:16 and 30 seconds?

This BKool system really isn't very user friendly is it.......or is it just me being a numpty?

Geoff's handicap times are for a yet-to-be-scheduled handicap race he's planning in advance (probably on a Tuesday night at 8pm)

Apologies to anyone confused, the Handicaps are for the new Tuesday 8PM slot, starting next Tuesday.

Rick runs the Chain Gang Leagues on a Thursday 7PM and a rerun on Saturday 5PM, and they are the normal format.

So 7PM tonight everyone enters during the warm up and Starts at the same time.

I'll desist from discussing Handicaps here until after the race. Hope you all have a good one...

Thanks Rick. Yes I am but slowly. I got roped in to a ride this afternoon for 20 miles and body didnt know what was happening! I will try to get on later but not sure if I will be pushing it so if not will get on Saturday. The weather here is (as you will know) is fantastic for Feb and have to seize every opportunity

OK, I've used your performances in the previous Handicaps to refine things a bit and hopefully these are looking better.

Happy to tweak further if significant changes are needed, but we may well have to get a first run done to get a better idea of where they should be for this particular route.

We need to sort out a Start Time for Wayne and Monte, if either of you are able to get involved this month, and anyone else who wants to join the group and get stuck in!

NOTE: These are for next Tuesday, not for tonight (Thursday 11th Feb 2016), which is a Chain Gang league session, everyone start during 7PM warm-up as usual!

There is an uncertainty in the air at our house his evening, which may exclude me from the race. Nieces needing accompanying to some college open evening and my boys have a Valentines Disco, between 6pm and 8pm.

My boys are 7 and 9 for goodness sake...a Valentines Disco!?! My sneering contempt at such an imposition to my training program was met with equal sneering contempt by my wonderful wife.

Apparently a 7 and 9 year old cannot walk 2 miles down an unlit main road in the rain and back again, in order to throw out some funky moves on the dance floor.
