I couldn't work out why on the coherent weight column of the validation table it kept saying my weight had changed during the chaingang league.
I used to think that this would happen if you change your weight during an active league, but I have also had my rides rejected for this reason, while I'm 100 % sure I didn't change my weight.
So my guess now would be that this happens if you have changed your weight since your last FTP.
Anyone have a better explanation?

Morning all.

I couldn't work out why on the coherent weight column of the validation table it kept saying my weight had changed during the chaingang league.

So today I weighed myself on a set of evil, uncompromising digital scales (as opposed to my old family friend, loyal mechanical scales...).... See where I'm going with this?

Apparently I weigh 5 kilo's more than I thought... Doh! :banghead:

Darn!! You've been missing out on that downhill speed advantage all this time .

If it helps, we can make it a mountain goat league climb. I don't mind doing it again and getting my @ss handed to me in the process.

Who else up for it? Which time suits?

Yes Bill, if you can make it a MGL session, that would be a very useful 2 birds one stone for me. PREFERABLY the one I haven't done yet!:okay:
8pm would be great for me, but will try and slot in earlier if it suits the majority.

The next Handicap Chase is "Tin Can Ten Time Trial" at 8pm (plus handicap) Tonight, Tuesday 23rd Feb 2016.

Instructions are here Chain Gang Handicap Race

Start Times (Handicaps) are as follows... (when underway time equals or exceeds the given values).

If anyone else wants to take part, can they let us know a competitive time for the stage, or failing that their fitness level and who they usually finish close to.

Only 45 seconds ahead of Kipster? Are you taking the pi$$ Geoff?
Think you need to check those spreadsheet formulae, they appear to have churned out an anomaly!

I've not done a FTP as of yet, unless it's something that happens automatically? I just assumed it keeps questioning my weight as I put in an incorrect weight off the get go.

Isn't the extra 5kg going to make more of a difference going up hill from now on?
:sad::sad:!

I'm game for this Bill. Whatever time suits others but preferably 7 or later. It's about time I got stuck into the mountain goat stages... The sooner the better now I've found out I've got an extra 5kg to shift ^_^.

What's wrong with you guys! - are the chaingang, handicap chases, and mountain goat leagues not enough challenges for you?!

I haven't even found the time or motivation to compete in mountain goats to be honest - I've done Alpe D'huez a couple of times - last time as a 30 minute FTP test and it REALLY HURT!

I think pushing myself to my limits on the handicap on Tuesday and the chaingang Thursday (& possibly Saturday) is enough for me right now thanks very much :B)
No, I hear what your saying, and COMPLETELY respect your decision Bridgy.....you pu$$y!

@kipster if (and I do appreciate this is a BIG if!) I can catch you up, you up for a bit of drafting to try to keep those dastardly fast guys behind us at bay for a little longer? We usually do most of these rides just a few seconds apart from each other most of the time anyway!

Last time you were exactly a minute slower than Kipster. Unfortunately you lost 15 seconds in rounding.
I'll adjust it to 10:45, which should put you on course to meet at the finish line! :hyper:

Dropping from Active 7 to Amateur 8 is surely not a true reflection on your form, which is why I asked how much slower you thought you would be than your last ride (22:49). Dropping you from 14:10 to 8:30 would just mean you had a lonely ride several minutes ahead of the rest of the field and spoiled the finish.

Taking a look at your current Chaingang league results, in both stages you were ahead of Rick and Roleur, but behind the fantastic four.

Do you think if you start at 12:50, that would give you a fair shot?
