Geoff, to be honest I don't think you should be out of pocket for running a league and not actually riding. I'd be more than happy to contribute to a Bkool premium subscription for you. The are 38 members of the handicap league, if we all contributed a couple of quid or so, that would cover the costs of the subscription.
I too am more than happy for Camlo to contribute to this cause. Well spoken Kipster. I have to shoot out now, to see Mary finish, and pretend the kids and I saw her at various stages. But I am happy to chip in. Would an annual subscription be easier?

Ooh, flashback to compiler writing at Uni in the early 80's, sounds more exciting than it possibly is!

Nowadays I am an expert in switching things off and then switching them back on again! :banghead:

Geoff
I was trying to avoid the age related reminiscence of "oh those days we used to load the accumulator with coal shovels".

See if she hadn't been silly doing this in the scary outdoors and had found a virtual environment we all could have logged in to support her.

Couldn't agree more.
This has been weighing in a tiny subconscious part of my mind ever since Geoff started the handicap league. There's no way you should have to pay Geoff if you're not riding. I'll happily pay up whatever it takes.

That's a good question I as just scollibg through old messages to find it and realised just how much twaddle we spout out. Also is it search for Rick?
Yep. I'll be starting it off today
Bill, Rick - I did stage 4 of the chaingang league again yesterday afternoon after the cock up on Thursday as I don't think I'll make it tonight, but it's still not showing in the league results? Ride is here:- http://www.bkool.com/bkoolSessionHistory/showSessionSummary/2061978

I know it sometimes takes a while or needs accepting by admin, but it just seemed to be taking a while so thought I'd check it was OK? Thanks.

Sorted now Bridgey. Sorry for the delay. Been sidetracked by another duathlon today so hadn't been online much yesterday or today.

I think it's Rick this time. I seem to remember he said he'd do the rerun. Just search for rick or gail or bilbao under the Live tab.

How did you do?
Decent enough. 8th out of 30 plus starters. Finished the first run in good time and held that position more or less til the end. Managed to go over the handlebars (landed on my feet so wasn't a big spill) and lost most of the braking power but was about 2/3 of the way round by then. Was the only person there using rim brakes

Thanks Rick, no worries - was just starting to wonder if it was me doing something wrong!

How did you get on?

Well done!

Rim brakes on mountain bikes is definitely one of those things I wouldn't want to go back to! Like many developments in mountain biking like full suspension, 29er wheels etc, they help to compensate for my lack of bike handling skills!
