OK, I've added Monte and also Harry T if you want to join in tomorrow evening...

Cheers Geoff.

I won't be able to make it tomorrow night, as I will probably be suffering more pain watching Wolves than I would doing the ride.

Did you set my handicap based on my time of 36 mins 45 secs, when I did this ride last week?

If so, perhaps you can use that time when you adjust the handicaps for the second ride next week.

Thanks Geoff, looking forward to this (I think )
It's very easy to start too quickly on this one . The gradient ramps up the further you go:boxing:. Max is about 5.5%, iirc, about 2 miles from the finish :cursing:.

I found myself always wanting to go quicker and then getting legs of jelly when it kicked up again:B). I was at 97% effort for this when I finished it. :surrender:

I suspect he used your 36:45. I did it in 37:09 (chasing your ghost most of the way) and I'm starting 30 seconds before you.

Well that puts me firmly in my place!
Not at all as I doubt you would set off with gusto for the first mile and spend the next 99 whingeing and moaning and expecting me to carry your fleece, give you the fleece back, carry your fleece, give you the fleece back etc etc

I may also just have described cycling anywhere with Mrs Soarerv8 apart from that would add me being shouted at for any very slight incline aka mountain.

Omg, that rings a very familiar bell! Only that's us doing 10 miles, not 100!

Haha!

As always you paint a picture Soarer ^_^. My missus has no interest in cycling and maybe that's a blessing.

I just signed up for a bike ride called the 'ditchling devil'. It looks pretty horrendous for a man of my abilities... Still, it's not till June so I've got plenty of time to say my goodbyes...

Did 82 miles round cambridge the other week - its taken me 2 weeks to recover from the wettest, windest day of my life - it was bloody awfull. Mind you it was no where near £70 - maybe you get an umbrella. £70 does sound alot - thinkI only paid £50 ish for London Surry100.

Agree £70 is steep (even with an umbrella!) Even with closed roads and the rest I don't think I really want to pay that much for what they're offering. I'm going to take kipsters advice and I've planned a bit of a rough calendar around rides with smaller infrastructure.
