First ever clip uploaded of a Velodrome session. It clearly demonstrates the 'blue speed bug' problem. I started hard then backed off the applied power again each time I apply power speed goes blue, even when on a flat course. Its only a small clip, but now I have figured howto do screen capture and upload I can post my starts. from other sessions in the chain-gang

Anyone interested in screen capture just ask, I am a novice expert

Bizarre! You have a Kickr is that right @CXRAndy ?

It's like the opposite of the problem with Bkool trainers where they give riders a far too generous speed boost when quickly increasing power from a standstill or low power situation (see fast starts and the on/off affect).

As Bob says, the start is bonkers!

The KICKR is a very capable trainer, superior in so many ways (excluding the price) to the Bkool Pro, and it is inconceivable that it cannot apply resistance at startup at least as well as the Bkool. To watch the bkool riders fly away from you, while you hammer out watts to crawl off the line and take 35 seconds flat out to get to just 20 mph shows it is clearly broken.

Hopefully they will take this issue seriously and fix it quickly, rather than take a year like they did with the down hill momentum!

I do use a Kickr, for my sins but I have now borrowed my BILs Bkool pro trainer so I will set it over the weekend for Tuesday night for a comparison, I will record the start as well.

Bkool are openly advertising that their software works with other trainers. I think if they are doing that, they should make sure it works properly, or make it clear what differences/limitations there are with non Bkool trainers like yours when they say this

Talking of grooming...

I had tried to get some colleagues to go on a Ventoux trip this summer. Lots of talk and then they all wimped out. So i found this below and 4-5 of us are booked on it. There is, i understand, space for 1 or 2 more. Pick up in Kent by mini van and bike trailer and over the channel and the pretty much as per the link. Not all meals coz we are doing it a bit cheaper but brekkie and accommodation and travel etc. No caravan. Nor bra's. But don't let that put anyone off It means no jabs either.
I won't feel abandoned if there's no interest...honest.

That looks really good! Definitely can't make the dates this year but would be up for something like that maybe next year. I will bookmark the link!

It's quite a nice day down here in the civilised south of England

I briefly considered a few laps of Regent's Park, but then decided to save the old spaghetti legs for tomorrow's bkool dust up!

It's nice and sunny up here in the Developing World too! And I'm slating in sunshine, which is a very alien concept!
But it's still no where near the required tropical conditions necessary for me to unbuckle my ride from the BKool, and unless I can convince Camlo to drive in front, with the TV playing on the pickup tailgate, it's a no go for me!

It's bloody dangerous outdoors...

Mind you, it sounds pretty dangerous on some of these cyclechat bkool sessions, with talk of sickness, injury and exhaustion a plenty!

It's strange, but the pain doesn't come across when spectating, even when the Heart Rate is showing crazy numbers...
