I did notice though that my speed seemed to spend a lot of time in the blue up to about 40-41 kmh. If I pushed on to mid 40's the numbers turned white. But then i would pull too far ahead. I don't recall see blue numbers on the flat before. Perhaps it reflects impact of successful drafting?
I didn't notice that to be honest, but then you spent the most time out front, and Ms. Gomez may have been drawing my gaze.

The other main problem I had was MTV on in front of me. Selena Gomez in a sexy negligee was a lot more compelling to watch than you guys and your draft zones, so I may have zoned out a few times.

Surprised your HR wasn't higher ;)

I think we would for a bit, but it would boil back down to that high cadence thing again. Bridgy will be able to sustain it for longer than me. I can go all out for half an hour and stay with him, but on an hour long one like this I run the risk of blowing up halfway if I try to stay with him.....but of course I'll try!
I am cycling from Bristol to Cornwall on Thursday and Friday, and am still away now so will try and squeeze the last stage in some time in between but not really sure when! And I guess I will be on my own - which is a real shame for a perfect drafting course!

LIVING THE DREAM
Well I have no chance of besting my yesterdays time as I was giving it 110% (well 94% to be precise). I was at my best and still wont be fully recovered by tomorrow. On the plus side I'm confident that Lars won't be able to best his time either without me around to help with the donkey work ;).
My best chance at the league would be to take a good rest then revisit a previous stage that's still open. I doubt I will though.

Well ther's 167 of them back and even managed to pip your UK Vet2 record by 1 second in doing so.
My plan was to challnege myself and sit in on my ghost untill all of the climbs finished and then concentrate on keeping my speed up going downhill.
Well I Ieft my ghost behind from the start, probably due to the lack of belching that I was doing on Thursday due to the latte and tuna cheese spring onion and mayo pannini half an hour before the session.
Well pleased !!!!

Whoa, that is some effort you put in there :notworthy:.
I think this means that you're back in the lead by seconds (less than 10 I think). If I had a team and some crosswind I would maybe have I chance in the last stage, but I think it will be very difficult to regain those seconds.
Regardless of the final outcome, I'm taking it as a compliment that you need to do proper warm up/preparation in order to overtake us.

Have you thought about tubeless? The sealant should sort out most punctures!

Can't say I have even thought about it Geoff. I might look into it? Any make recommendations?
Thanks

I would say it depends heavily on your wheels, I have some Shimano Dura Ace tubeless wheels and run Bontrager R3 tubeless ready tyres on them. They are good tyres but they are a bitch to fit and they leak air, so need topping up before every ride. I understand that they are using a new compund which is supposed to hold air better (a useful trait for tyres) so I hope they have improved in this respect. I use them with the Bontrager sealant, but I have never noticed it sealing anything, which I guess is a good thing! :okay:

Well done AAAC. You did what I thought you wouldn't mange without drafting assistance. I was even confidently thinking I'd get second in the league and had even devised my plan to do so, but I should know you better by now and not expect you to accept defeat so easily. Just have to try and get you back on Thursday.
