That has been rumoured for almost 2 years now and still no signs of it coming to fruition.
The prototype seemed to work fairly well. There was, iirc, another post on Rays blog about the software/algorithm going onto an edge 1000 head unit (can't find it atm).

Interesting concept, if it actually makes it to market.
Unfortunately, like many things, accountants can, sometimes, be hard to convince on the potential of inovations. Particularly where there is not a physical item to show off

Are you in the market for a new bike insomnia? Looks smart. Seems like people are investing in it but I'd be hesitant to buy a frame I didn't know much about though. Looks a lot like a bit of a knock off of the canyon aeroad which has lots of good reviews and you can build up to your own spec. I'd prefer the aeroad to be honest. Choice of wheels etc as opposed to their own brand which I don't know about. The in built computer thing sounds good but could be a gimmick and littered with bugs. Garmin can be clunky but at least they're an established company and if you want di2 you can use it in conjunction with garmin / strava already.
Definatly going to get a new bike. The one I have was always going to be my winter bike if I kept this lark up. And as I am now moving to a body similar in shape to a GOD (or so I think - edit BUDA would be the nearest image) the Mrs is up for me 'investing' in it further.
Probably going to go for a SARTO in the end but this looks like a decent value stop gap. Also I get to try Di2 and maybe can strip parts if its really shoot.

Not that I would know what to do with the parts.

Planet x do good bikes.
I have 2 of their frames the RT-58 carbon, and the Vine Mitus 0.6 carbon which where on offer my 0.6 weighs in at 6.65 kg with sram red group set

I still haven't got my new bike, was going to try a few out but collarbone put me back a few weeks. Time is a dangerous thing as you get to browse the web and chat to other cyclists more, so found out about a local custom frame maker and the bikes look very nice www.dassi.com

Not cheap mind and I don't think I can justify the money for the miles I do each year (approx. 4000 - 5000).

Ps those Sarto bikes look good as well

I'd really like to give di2 a go myself. When I built my bike up I was a bit dismissive of it. I like the idea of being able to maintain my bikes myself and it put me off. On reflection it seems pretty low maintenance. It also makes an awesome noise as you change gear which is worth the money on its own in my, generally illogical opinion!

This bike porn is worse than the videos posted earlier. That Dassi looks great. The nice thing about being way over weight is I can't justify buying the lightest stuff. The difference between the Rival group and Red would be one week of not eating my late night snack.

I'd like to go electronic, but being a campagnolo fanboy the eye watering price of Super Record EPS keeps me on mechanical for now.

Whatever you do decide on I'd think twice before getting a bike with aero wheels. The front one can be absolutely lethal on fast technical corners. I sold my Mavic 50mm ones after two very nasty high speed wobbles at around 40mph. Both times I nearly came off and after the first one I realised it wasn't just a one off so they were put on ebay pronto. Got a nice normal set of Ultegra wheels instead and never had any more problems. It was the wind that did it but you can never guarantee it won't get windy when you go out. I think the bike geometry did not go well with the aero wheels so may not be the case with all bikes.

I think if it makes you genuinely happy and you can budget for it then the miles you put in are plenty enough kipster.

I'm definately biased in this spot. I stopped smoking, stopped going out on benders, worked out how much I was saving and started tucking the money away as a motivator. I ended up buying a bike that most people would say is much more than I'll ever need but it makes me smile when I ride it and keeps me pushing. That's enough for me.

This is my pride and joy! (Also very proud I've worked out how to upload pictures!)

Finally got round to doing stage three of the league this afternoon. :excl:Two second excuse warning:excl: Not my best effort due to an emergency water bottle explosion causing me to stop and mop up and I'm also in training for a much bigger ride so I'm not resting on the downhills even though the speed's blue and its Easter Monday and I'd not eaten and my t-shirt was rubbing and the rain storms were scary

That should do it.
