Whatever you do decide on I'd think twice before getting a bike with aero wheels. The front one can be absolutely lethal on fast technical corners. I sold my Mavic 50mm ones after two very nasty high speed wobbles at around 40mph. Both times I nearly came off and after the first one I realised it wasn't just a one off so they were put on ebay pronto. Got a nice normal set of Ultegra wheels instead and never had any more problems. It was the wind that did it but you can never guarantee it won't get windy when you go out. I think the bike geometry did not go well with the aero wheels so may not be the case with all bikes.

As you can see from the pic above I've got aero wheels on my bike (also 50mm). I definately agree you need to be much more aware of cross winds. What you experienced sounds bloody scary. Ideally it would be nice to choose from different wheelsets depending on the conditions.

Dassi looks very nice - and British which appeals. I will look into it further.

Like the Sarto because of the rarity and aparently a lot of the pro rides actually ride them. Just made up to look like there team bikes. Dogma being a good example. No that I am a Froome. Small artisan factory apeels to me for lots of reasons.

Was worried about this but figued I could just swap wheels when I needed to. Do it for BKOOL now any way.

Re-rode stage 3 today. Used @Gaileb as a target ...at least that was the plan (don't worry Gail, you won't be getting an e-mail off Bkool about being beaten :surrender:).

At the start Gail was off, and 30 seconds into my ride and Gail's ghost is supposedly 30 seconds ahead!!! Chasing like i'd stolen the bike it was another 5 minutes until I saw Gail 's ghost again. I tried to draft but I think this is almost impossible when the riders are so unbalanced in weight ... on the start of every little incline she bombed ahead, again sometimes by 20 seconds, then on the flats I could catch up. At one point I went 2 mins 20 ahead in a period of about a minute (did she stop for a cake??) then within the next minute she has bombed past me and is a minute ahead. Very bizare :cursing:

Not sure how BKool works out your relative time/distance to a ghost.

Anyway, I was well chuffed with my ride and I knocked 2 mins off my PB. Gail's ghost pipped me by 10 seconds

Whorty, Unfortunately BKool uses your power to calculate the to your opponents position so if you are on climb and your opponent on a descent and behind you it will put them further back than you think and as your opponent starts the climb they can suddenly get a lot closer as their power goes up.

Yes, that did seem to be the case. Very hard to judge where you really are in relation to a ghost.

someone did join my ride, and started the same time as me. Chap called Roger .... half way, and 10 minutes behind me and he bailed LOL :becool: I may be the slowest in this group, but I'm maybe not as slow as I think :bicycle:
