Thoroughly enjoyed that tonight Bill/Lars.
Yeah, that was a great race. I also enjoyed the "group ride" with you and Bill.
But I knew you would be too strong on the final bump, so I tried the "snake bites" again (actually I mean the movement before the bite, but just don't know what it is called in english) about 10k from the finish, but like last time you just brushed the dust of your shoulders and kept coming back stronger, and it didn't seem to bother Bill either :B).
Great sprint at the finish line Bill :okay:.

Not sure that my HRM was telling the truth the whole time because when I started today it was reading 48 bpm which I wish was my standing HR let alone already pedalling a bike HR.
At some points I was looking at my HR and thinking if that's correct I need a new set of lungs because they were going like the clappers.
I have also learnt my lesson of not letting you two get too far ahead going downhill and have realised that a burst of big cadence effort can give you a real thrust but I suppose that's on/off (naughty me).
Once again I was getting some unrealistic Watt over swings, a bit like a Pro Sling, at times when I wasn't expecting it. My 'start sling' felt like it was never going to end and all of this appears to have knocked up my average watts a bit.
I expect a bit of that is that I spent a bit more time on the front but that could be my imagination.
If either of you are going to have a go again on Saturday we need to knock another 1:30 of our time to best Graham Ash's Male Vet 2 and GBR record but I guess Lars does not see the GBR record..

Well if all the suffering is part of the fun then I really enjoyed it too. The anticipation of hopefully having enough energy left to put up a race at the end was probably the best bit for me. Sometimes I've got nothing left for that last bit.
Yeah, it seemed to me that you were in the front most AAAC which shows in your much higher as usual w/kg, although I think we just have a reading inconsistency there as yours seems too much higher. I don't think a high cadence downhill is anything to do with on/off. Even with the high cadence the power is generally quite low. TBH I don't think Lars and myself could have broken away today even down hill, although it looked like Lars was trying to make an early break at one point when he got about 6 seconds in front. He's not easy to read in the virtual world is LB , whereas I am quite predictable .
I'll be there on Saturday as usual but don't fancy my chances of going 1:30 faster. That'd be really pushing it for me, but will no doubt give it a go and see how far I get.

I'm still not sure what the snakes bites are. Is that the early break you made? That had me quite confused as I assumed that if you did break away it would give me and AAAC an advantage as we'd be drafting.
I really enjoyed the end sprint Lars although I though I'd lost it when you pulled me in from about 7 seconds back after a massive effort. Then I got ahead again but you hadn't given up and almost overhauled me to the line.
All in all a great race

I'm still not sure what the snakes bites are.
It's when I open a small lead, and then just as the chasers are looking to tuck in behind and get a break (they think ), I put on the power again and open a new gap. I think I did it about 6 or 7 times before I decided it didn't work.
I'll have to come up with another trick to get the better of AAAC .

@Goldwolfie thanks for the tow :bicycle::bicycle:. You helped take 16 minutes off of a previous best on that course  . I think I owe you a . You kicked my ass on the hill just before the last hill :B). Just before the top my legs went :headshake:. I could not gain back the 30 seconds or so you had and at the final hill I was :surrender:.

Now some supper I think :mrpig:.

I didn't think I was going to enjoy that one, as I still felt tattered after the Alpe d'Huez last night. Also started a bit late, but once I caught you I thought it would be good to try out our drafting techniques one again.

It worked well, I enjoyed the company and my legs didn't feel to bad after sharing the workload. My competitive spirit got the better of me with 3 miles to go, so I pushed on for the finish, and a nice cold beer - after I completed my warm down of course.

Ahh that's what you did!!! At the time I couldn't work out what was going on. I thought "we've caught him", hang on, oh no we haven't". WTF is going on? Am I imagining things?
At least I'll know what you're doing next time :okay:

Hi all
I have recently purchased BKool pro, as I need to get fit again, its also the first time I have been on my bike for about 20 years, so having to start with the easy rides
:hello:

:welcome: @Trekkie 2015

I think you've come to the right place - as long as you can spare about 30 minutes a day to read all the posts on here - it's a great place to pick up some useful advice when first starting out on the Bkool pain journey.

We are not all speed merchants, so jump into the leagues when you feel comfortable.

And there was me 'working' to keep the group together.
If I dropped of Lars' wheel it was to leave a bridge for you Bill so I kind of realised what was going on but like you I just thought the two of us would peg him back anyway (and we did).
For me stop starting just wears me out as I prefer to diesel.

And your Warp Factor may come in good use once you learn how to utilise the BKool Warp Drive.

Lars, to get a break you need a KitKat not a 'sneaky bite'.
I hope that translates well!

I wasn't sure if the frame of the bike would bend, when I got on it as I am a tad overweight:laugh:
@130kg the last time I weighed myself :mrpig:. Frames are very :training:. Still can't climb for crap but I can trundle along on flatish session fastish .

Just getting fitter has made a big difference to my well being . Now I just need to stop snacking :mrpig:. :surrender:

Nearly didn't make it again last night due to work. Was later getting prepped than I like and only joined the warm up with 4 minutes to go. Then proceeded to hurt in various ways. Sometimes you wish work did stop you doing this stoopid thing
