I agree...if you remove the "easier" in that sentence.
It is easier to attain a speed, higher than you could on your own, if you are part of a group. It is hardly ever easy . That is where the competitiveness comes in. The quick tend to push the envelope of the possible and suffer more because of it :headshake: :surrender:.

The intention tonight was a revisit of the Alpe d'Huez session :bicycle::training::bicycle: :training: that took me 2 hours the time I completed it . Unfortunately I haven't been able to turn the pedals over enough to complete a warm up let alone the Alpe tonight. I bailed on my warm up and bailed shortly after starting the alpe session. Neither was saved. Toooo depressing  :surrender:. Some food and rest for another go tomorrow I think.

Many here will ride up Alp d' Huez for 30 min to set an ftp. It seems as good a test as any. AAAC does in not much more than 30m :notworthy:
Sweet Alp d'Huez it is then if i dont feel too hungover  going to be over ambitious and aim for 340 watts and try and hold on for dear life.

Sorry about that, AAAC :shy:.
It's just that I knew you would crush us at the hill, so I tried to get a few seconds advantage before the ascent began.

Apologies accepted, all is fair in BKooling and War.
To be honest I enjoyed being a domestique for the majority of the ride.
I might try and ride this alone outside of the league to have a go a the Male Vet 2 record.
If there's a way I can challenge my ride without it counting in the league I could use our trio to draft halfway and then go for gold to try and knock 1:30 of the time.

I haven't done the whole of the fabled Alp for a while.
I did 8.9 km of it for an FTP not so long ago and that took 30 min (obviously).
It's 14.2 km so that would put my time for the whole of it at 47 minutes or more.
I think my record is 46 minutes but that was at a time when there was a glitch and the resistance was not being set correctly and now I can't get rid of it from my records.
Once upon a time you could delete complete rides from your History and therefore BKool rode Database

Talking hungover, the Shiraz is open so it will be two bottles of rehydration drink for breakfast instead of coffee ready for the league re-run!

I'll probably be admitting to cross dressing or something equally obscure by 11 o'clock.

Bailed not crashed!, That is depressing. You need a drink man.

I did a 60 km session on Tuesday and by km 40 I couldn't find anyway comfortable to rest my prostrate and ended up adjusting the saddle on the fly, I really did consider bailing and really probably should have done but may head wouldn't let me.

It appeared to me that he was clearly trying to hand his bike to the motorcyclist who was not on his team and should therefore be awarded a 4 minute penalty and banned for life for 'mechanical joking'.

Epic ride though.

Careful, you'll have Bill grooming you with talk like that.
