Hard luck @LBHIFI - really frustrating when something like that happens mid race
I think it was just after the first hill.
Btw, I must have missed a slingshot or two. I was 20 seconds behind at one point, and seconds after I was more than a minute down :blink:.

Not enough time for a warm up for me to stretch leg and loosen knee so treated first 2 bumps as a warm trying to keep HR about 150. Absolutely zero chance of keeping up with you guys at the moment anyway! Sped up from 1/2 way point to chase jonbon and then Rossilo down which was satisfying but hard. Excellent times you 3 at the front. I fear I must find a way to catch up with you.:bicycle:

Damn, my chain got stuck big time :cursing:. I had to remove the cassette to free it in the back and a hammer to knock it free in the front. I just fitted a new rear wheel and thought I had the gears adjusted OK.
It certainly would have worked fine in the real world, but these up & down Bkool stages demands a perfect 100% adjustment.
It might work in your favour though Lars as you'll be more rested when you do put in your time. I felt my legs at the start of this one and when you, Bridgy and AAAC started to disappear I didn't quite know what to do. At that point I was tempted to cruise it. Then you missed your slingshot and then you just stopped with your chain jam. Shortly after that I realised that my tyre was slipping like crazy so I stopped and let some air out, which helped a lot.

Damn @BILL S I thought I might have had you there for a bit - you paced it brilliantly though - whilst I was dying a slow and painful death on the last 2 ascents! Good race!

I was pretty sure you'd beat me there too Paul. For a while I thought you might beat AAAC the way you were sticking to him. I lost a lot of time on the first hill due to my slipping tyre. I had the pressure set for fast riding, not for hills. Then I think I mostly caught you by slingshotting and I think you missed some or all of them.

I'm conflicted :huh:. I am unsure who to blame for that course. Me for doing it or :cursing::cursing::cursing::cursing:B for choosing it. Hill 4 blew my legs to pieces :B). I am glad I built a lead over @Goldwolfie or I would have, no, I did die a death of a thousand pedal pushes on the last hill xx(.

Still another one done, I won't say down up down up etc....:stop:

:surrender::surrender::surrender:
I don't like the fact that you and GW took well over an hour to finish that course ... I better set aside 90 minutes tomorrow evening ! :surrender:

That's a massive league lead you just took there, AAAC:thumbsup:.
We will have really shitty weather here for a long period, so I'll probably spend the next week trying to get near that time.

I'm going to have to do the same unfortunately LB. Not looking forward to it :sad:

Which reminds me, I'm not going to be able to do the re-run on Saturday. Can someone else please start it at 5pm.

I haven't got a hammer in my Cycle Toolbox, note to self, must get a hammer to hit the chain with!
Saying that the last time I used a hammer on a bike was to knock cotter pins in and out, note to self, go get a hammer from your DIY toolbox if you ever need to use one on your bike.
