They'll be even thinner this year Bill, as you'll probably be way out front on your own. It's not like drafting behind you in the chaingang AAAC. Riders were very thin on the ground last time.

My main concern is having never used tri bars out on the road but they're on my bike and I've been using them on the turbo for the best part of a year. I know I'm going to want to use them on the DD but I might just wobble all over the place and fall off.
Thanks for the offer. But it will probably be cheaper to buy a high end saddle than post, to and fro, a box of torture implementsIf you have a better idea after today of what you are looking for I would be happy to send you a shoe box of saddles if you want to try some. Most of my better ones are gone, like my Adamo Prologue which went to my neighbouring office cyclist (ex Cat 1, Navy and now a keen triathlete).
I have just ridden a vuelta route in ant+ Fec. I had planned a 2 HR zwift 40 test but for first time for me it kept losing connection with the turbo. Anyway, I am tempted to say it's harder in ant+. Certainly much harder to get up to speed. But I hit 78kmh down which is faster than I have achieved on much steeper slopes normally. Of course could all be placebo, morning ride etc but perhaps worth some of you experimenters giving it a go. Perhaps we should all try a race together in ant+ Fec and see what happens? I have long felt my particular unit flattered me.
Monte,Would someone be kind enough to remind me how to remove the ant+fec... I selected it the other day to use on zwift and would like to turn it off again.
Same here. As well as all my other disadvatages - weight / fitness / wine / pies etcI connect manually as auto never seems to work first time. So I have been giving myself another disadvantage![]()
It's the de facto standard for all turbo trainers to ensure compatibility with software such as bkool, trainer road etc. Supposed to also ensure a level playing/ riding field for all software users irrespective of hardware used. Should in theory mean wahoo kickr and bkool users have same experience in software.
Tri bars/clip on are great for adding 1-2mph free pace. If you're used to using them you will resort to that position, which is fine when riding solo.
TT bikes have a slack head angle giving slow steering response unlike most road bikes which tend to be twitchy with tri bars, so you need a greater safety zone around you to create a safer ride. Also if riding in a pack and not on the front in the TT position you will have no time to brake if some one does something unusual.- not likely for Bill
Sportives normally do not let tri-bars/ clip ons for the reasons I mentioned.
I'm in for Team White. Will be testing team radio during warmup..OK, who's up for another Handicap Team Time Trial 8pm tomorrow evening?
Pico Penas this time, so should be good for drafting, just got to get the Handicap's right to make a close finish (depends on who can make it)!
Can we have a roll call...
Team White: @bert1971 @JLaw @Goldwolfie @rob01792 @theboxers @Gaileb
Anyone else want to join in?
Should be interesting to see how you all get on with Kip's Team Radio in the mix (cries of "I'm Off, I'm Off" heard from the back)
