A little tip for those who wish to mount a 32T cassette. I thought is wasn't possible with my shimano 105 SS (short) derailleur, but it turns out it is. I just tried it myself and it works. This will make the top derailleur wheel clear the 32T :

Thanks Bob.

The power figures are nonsense though - it's like the resistance max's out but gives you the benefit of the power you'd be producing at that speed if it hadn't (if that makes any sense?!)

Got me worried there Bridgy , 16 seconds ahead of Adds, that give me some thing to aim at!

All this talk about the Trainer resistance maxing out is, I think, a little incorrect as it is BSim or the BKool Trainer Firmware that is doing that.
Anyone who has had one of these trainers apart should have a go a taking of the stepper motor and hand winding the magnets out to full extension and then get on your Bkool and pedal without switching it on (because the first thing magnets do is go back to null).
Granted the initial resistance is low but you don't have to put much cadence on for it to 'firm-up' to a massive resistance probably far in excess of 500 watts.

Edit. Might have to eat my hat. Just tried that myself and didn't get the result I was expecting.
I'll have to do something a bit more scientific as it's difficult to judge results on a few pedal turns.
I will try a ride without my trainer connected to see if I can get some cadence readings and then see what cadence I can sustain for 5 minutes and then compare that with a 12% climb trainer switched on.
I have ridden sessions on my Classic in the past with 25% plus gradients and I have been down to 4 to 6 kph at excess of 400 watts (which is about right according to Bike Calculator http://bikecalculator.com/) and been wipped by riders on Pro's using a different firmware.

Go for it! One thing's for sure, I won't be trying that one again soon!

You doing the rerun tomorrow Bob? I'll be trying a higher psi this time.
I fear I may have triggered Bill and AAAC's competitive instincts and my time at the top of the leaderboard may be as short as yours Adam! I will treat myself to a beer and bask in the temporary glory while it lasts!

Hmmm I was absolutely flat out yesterday Paul. My only chance is a bit of tweaking with tyre and psi.
My theory is that you are a stronger rider than me, but you struggle against me on the flat because your tyre is good for going up hills but produces high friction at speed which is the case in most chaingang rides.
If by any chance I can match your speed, I doubt I can match your w/kg.
