I maybe wrong here, but looking at the recordings, the new firmware has put pay to effective saw-toothing. It looks like the speed plummets much more quickly than before when cadence is reduced. The trailing edge looks to be steeper?

I hadn't upgraded my firmware before Thursday night's league ride, and I had to put in 104% of effort on that one to get that time.

I have since upgraded, so it will be interesting to see how I get on the next time I try a decent climb - but it might not be tonight's re-run - as once was probably enough on that one for me.
If you don't fancy the climb GW, you could try the 'flat' section leading to the climb. Using my ghost from last night you'll have your ghost and my original ghost too. Now, I was pushing hard on the flatter section but was surprised I was 2 minutes (I think it was as high as 2 20 secs) in front as I reached the base of the climb. It seemed much easier to keep the speed up. If you get the same after the update you'll fly through the first section. Problem is, the hill I struggle to get to 10kph, whereas normally when the gradient goes above 10% it's relatively easier to keep that speed (even easier than when gradient is 8%).

Could be what we see now is more realistic, which is fine, but a big change halfway through the league does skew times. Glad I got my first ride in before the update  Anyone doing the ride post change will be at a distinct disadvantage

Correct. I noticed this quite quickly as I started on the hill so I did try to do the burst of speed and see what happened. As soon as power came off, the speed dropped. I think we should consider this a good thing as it stops the unrealistic speed uphill, but it was such a shock to the system when I wasn't expecting it

Certainly knocks on the head any re-run of Mt Ventoux in the near future - imagine 20.2km at a speed of of 7kph :surrender:

Do it in video view and enjoy the scenery
Can you still press the space bar and have a look around in this view?
I think not.
If your lucky the video is recorded from a stable platform and not a bike handle bar mounted camera, those videos make me ill.

PS. Anyone got an old Pro or later Classic (with a micro USB connector and not the printer style USB B) that they would consider breaking for spares so I can catch up with everyone with firmware.
My pockets are deep and arms short at the moment as I have got to shell out £2.5K this month on car repairs and holidays?
The carrot it that it will slow me down comparitively, on climbs that is.

Looks like it's time for me to change my default settings from mph to kmh - it might make me fell better after the latest fashion upgrade.

I'll have another go with ghosts as you suggest when I can fit it in.

Re-run at 5pm. The weather is nice outside but you never know what will happen to you out there. You might suddenly decelerate from 20mph to zero mph in 0.1 of a second.
So take the safe option and do the re-run.

Sorry Bob, I thought Bridgy got nobbled  At least you know what the rest are going to feel at 5 pm tonight

No worries Whorty. Will be interesting to see if all turbos are affected in the same way.
I would ride tonight despite saying I wouldn't do it again but knee not great and a quick zwift today didn't loosen it up. I will look in though.
