Can't say too much so as not to spoil Geoff's viewing but:

:notworthy:
Cross training appears to have given him a new dimension :wahhey:

Quite something watching him ride so intelligently and then having the power in reserve to catch, overtake and then keep Kittel at bay.

There was something quite sad about watching him being out menouvered and out muscled the last couple of years but it has made watching him win now more satisfying I think. There's something special about watching an athlete in any sport making a great comeback. And the margins are unbelievable too.

Cav is targeting the Olympics this year. The TdF is just more training for him. On form so far it looks good for him to be in the mix for a medal as long as he is in the lead group.

I don't think that's quite the case TB.

Because he's competing on the track in the olympics there has been some debate as to whether riding the tour is the ideal preparation. I think his selection for the olympics in itself has divided opinion to some degree for various reasons and because of the level of succes he's had so far it makes it more likely he'll try and get all the way to Paris. This will mean he spends even less time on the track with his team mates.

But like Andy said it's possible that his track training this year has boosted his form in the tdf.

TT, I must have mis-heard what he was doing (quite possible). The track training has definitely helped. Now he is a clear 2nd in the all time list I think he may want to go on to be number 1. With this form and at his age very possible.

That was what I thought the most deliberate thing he appeared to be doing, i.e. waiting for the Ettix Train to come on by and then jump on, he had a plan and it worked. Whether that was plan A 3 km out I don't know but none the less he is a very inteligent sprinter.

That was an effort today, my legs hurt having just watched :notworthy:. A deserved win by a rider who is starting to make a habit of it :bravo:.

And we are going to see a young Brit in the White Jersey tomorrow as well now he is being given back his advantage before the air bridge came down.
Apparently a spectator accidentally got his belt caught on the power cable to the compressor!!!
