Looking at yesterday's effort and comparing against Bob/Bill. I was roughly even power. It was Geoff`s aggressive handicap that did for me .

I was dying quite badly at the end so I need a holiday:surrender:

^_^

To be honest Andy I think we all were.

Geoff, my real weight is now nudging 73kilos so please factor that in in future handicap rides. You may still have me down as 77k.

EDIT: Congrats on the weight loss, it doesn't seem to have affected your power! :okay:

Your real weight isn't a factor, I just adjust your Handicap weight to take into account your normalized power to hit a watts/kg target, so everyone is theoretically producing the same watts/kg.

However, since watts/kg is less of a factor on lower gradients than outright watts, I should perhaps adjust the handicaps to take into account the advantage the higher power outputs have on the less steep sections, to make things closer.

Yes, you actually produced slightly less power than Bill and Bob this time, so your Handicap will come down a bit. It was based on your ride up Cheddar, where you monstered it and did 344 Watts to Bills 306 Watts and Bobs 290 Watts!

I see you are still on the KICKR, but hopefully at the lower weights and moderate gradients not suffering too much of a disadvantage?

yes noticed that last week nice to be up front even if it was short lived

@rob01792 Nice increase in power, the course seemed to suit you well! :okay:

Of course, you may need a slight increase in weight...

If I can factor in the benefit of higher average power on the less steep gradients where weight is less important, we should be able to close things up a bit more...

Well done on the weight loss - are you weighing yourself after a hard Bkool session on a very hot day in your loft? ;)

First thing in the morning bridgy:okay: Post coffee and, err, ablutions...

Honest, if i had weighed myself last night with best part of 2 litres of water in me pre ride and then post ride 2 beers, pate, bread, protein bar, cornichons^_^, then tortilla chips and a can of cream soda, oh and some pomeganate juice-well, you get the picture.
Scales read 73.2 kilo's this morning  4-5 more kilo's to go.

Bob. Every so often, one of the group jumps in fitness and causes the suffering of those around him trying to defend their positions. :cursing:

This is you right now.:highfive:

Your post-ride nutrition sounds very similar to mine - I swear I consume more calories than I burn off sometimes!

As for 4-5 more kilos to go - blimey, I hope you're only about 4 feet tall!

Seriously though, whatever you're doing seems to be working well

Bill thanks, not so sure its a jump in fitness, more about getting my saddle height right. I only left changing it so long because its a canyon vlcs 2 seatpost and split so a little anxious bringing the split part within the downtube. I can spin better now without bobbing from side to side so much and that is really apparent in more equal left/right leg power output. It also means i am less likely to get out of the saddle so, for me anyway, less saw tooth:biggrin: And my ITB is healing up nicely too. But if all that prompts a more defensive response from others then I like!

Bridgy, I am just trying to ensure a daily 3-500 calorie deficit. Not easy post ride as we can all agree!
5f 9inches but carrying some of that sub cutaneous fat they tell us all to worry about. And my boys take the pi$$ out of ^_^Lots of heart and angina issues on both sides of the family so trying to be careful without overdoing it. 70k would probably be ok. Thing is Bridgy, when you get to my age it is soooo much harder to shift...

I see you're veteran 2 on Bkool so a bit older than me (comfortably within veteran 1!) - but I think I am already at the age where putting weight on is WAAAY easier than losing it - don't tell me it gets even harder!

Geoff. Hill climbs don't seem to have an adverse affect on the kickr. I think it's because I need to keep the power on constant. Just my weight @95kg is the main handicap. I need to have 2 months of being good to drop to 90kg but that is my lowest weight I can sustain. What can I say big boned!

Male Vet 2 that partied too hard last Friday at my Brother in Law's 60th (didn't take my conscience with me because she had to work the weekend).
Totally upset my inner balance (and my outer balance on the night).
As a result I couldn't eat properly for 3 days, but re-hydrated big time, and as a result dropped 4 kg during recovery.
I should be ready to turn some pedals again tomorrow but I'm not doing that again in a hurry!

Won't be surprised if I blow up tomorrow doing the Summer Cup Stage 3.
fmpando has joined in as well and stuffed me buy 2 minutes on stage 2.
Still can't work out where A.I.D (62 kg) gets his speed from on the flat and downhill and Pep Tatche appears to have resorted to on-offing to match him.
