OK I'll stick my head above the parapet. Are we doing a chaingang tonight?

Yes. 7pm with 10 mins warm up as usual. Should be cooler tonight hopefully.

Great race Bill and LBHIFI - well done on the win Bill . You timed your sprint for the line just right - I got it all wrong as I was caught out by that 8% bit and was crunching around my gears trying to find one that would work! It was a pretty good team drafting session as well - good practice for future team time trials for Team Blue ;)

Normal service is resumed!
LB, Bill and Bridgy got away so fast i could not even see them up the road. 400, 500, 550watts and still i could not get within 20 or so seconds and eased off waiting for a Dr G realising you 3 now drafting and impossible to catch you. I tried to draft with the Dr but kept pulling away. little was i know he was being more sensible and biding his time and energy. Sure enough he reigned me in and then put a minute into me and some more. It would be good to have him in more of our races. Still, although hard it was good fun. I bet you 3 up front were suffering just as much!
well done all.

Yeah I think we were drafting so well, and so quickly that if you missed catching on at the start you'd have had a real struggle catching up - this used to happen to me all the time last winter so I know exactly what it's like! I actually found it pretty OK drafting with Bill & LB - it was just impossible to do anything other than ride together. (Or win the sprint finish of course!)

Sorry all just overheated, even with 3 fans going( Needs bigger fans):heat::heat::heat:.

Rob not sure what was happening, but for me, you were jumping in and out, forward and backward, like a punk at a concert :hyper:. It made me feel quite xx(.

@Goldwolfie you are getting too quick to even draft for me now :notworthy:

I couldn't do my cool down properly as I'd picked the only descent with a mile or so of climbing to start with :B) :surrender:.

I'll have another go tomorrow.

Thanks Paul. It was a really good race. Great drafting all the way and it felt quick like the good old days. Probably because it was so flat. Could have been anyone's at the end but looks like it was my turn for a change.

Yeah, great race :B):heat::B)^_^ and a great (really long) sprint by Bill :notworthy:.
I didn't have the legs for anything but trying to keep up with you guys.
Also, great race by AAAC taking 2nd place in in the Summer cup, beating Pep's watts (but not watt/kg).

Well it clearly works. There isn't a great deal of difference in watts between you. There was a point about 22 min in where Dr G got within 15 or so seconds of you 3, with me another 30 or so seconds behind. It would have been fascinating to see what would have happened if he latched onto the group.

The software update makes drafting a bit easier I think, because the more realistic drop in speed as soon as you back off the power means you're less likely to go shooting past the person you're trying to catch up with to draft

I thought he was going to catch us but he probably put in such an effort he might have struggled to stay with the group once caught. That's the problem with slow starts. Even if you catch the front guys, if you didn't draft your way up to them with someone else you'll be at a big disadvantage because of the additional effort you put in.
