Actually, I thought you must have forgotten Lars had ridden last night and thought that the two of you drafting would easily catch us which you probably would normally. But with Lars weakened after last night, you'd be doing very well to catch us.

Looking at the results board we obviously saved some effort there Bill as we undercut Bridgy's watts and Watts/kg. It was however a very on and off effort session with very little time to get into any rhythm. Our F/W & S/W combo's seem to work against each other as well which also made working together hard.
I was trying to lead you out for the finish but you appeared to be trying let me go ahead.

When we got to the end I didn't have my usual motivation to get over the line first and I was actually looking for a 0.0 gap between us.
As you say, Paul made more w/kg than us, which makes sense as we had the drafting advantage. I still feel the most efficient way for me to get up the hills is to take a good run at them and keep the power on as long as I can, hence me always appearing to make a break at the bottom of the hill, but then you always overtaking at some point. With these hills being quite small I could get away with doing that but with anything much bigger you'd be off. Not sure if its F/W or S/W related, but more likely its just different methods of attack. Only need to look as far as the last summer cup ride to see that when the hills get bigger I end up minutes behind.

That"s some effort TB - I couldn't manage 2.5 hours for a couple of reasons - heat and saddle soreness.

Still that was my first ride as an Old Age Pensioner, reaching 65 yesterday, so you can't over do it at my age.

Well that old age pensioner truly kicked my arse on tonights ride good ride gw happy birthday

Cheers AAAC for the push at the end

Do they still give your pension at 65?

Does that make you an OAPIL?

I think I may have just found my new Fans. Slight problem,,

They might not fit in the car, a V70,

I've got the bigger version of those. They are great because they will blow cooling air all over your body not just a small area.
It's a shame they can't supply a tail wind in the virtual world, they're big enough

Edit
Just realised you're talking about a wind tunnel. The big one is over a metre tall

Yes Geoff, I get the State Pension from 65 as I just qualify to avoid the sliding scale out to 70+ for the youngsters of today.

@theboxers - I retire on Monday. I know what you are thinking, why not retire today, being a Friday, Well being a tight git, I wouldn't have got my July holiday entitlement, as I have to work completed months to qualify. So one extra early start for an extra 2.5 days holiday pay, seems like a good deal.

Us Pensioners have got to look after the pennies you know.

Cycling will be a big part of my retirement plans - increasing my outdoor mileage to build up to some multi-day touring with an aim to do LEJOG in May/June next year. Obviously, this will be at a more sedate pace than I have to trash about on Chain Gang event nights.
