It could be bridgy. I think my mistake last year was to confuse initial symptoms with cartilage problems that stopped me running 25 years ago. It is really due to muscle imbalance which is why it is common among cyclists and runners. If you don't address the symptoms early the band gets so taut it hinders leg/knee movement and then the symptoms/pain are akin to sciatic pain. So, at its worse my knee kicks out as i walk up and down stairs, my knee locks, and there is an intense pain that moves of its own accord, up and down the leg, through the knee and into the foot. It is bonkers. Cycling actually helps, as i said when the symptoms really hit some 6-8 months ago, i think because, balanced with cold presses/ice and pain killers and physio, it loosens up the knee etc. But i don't think balls out cyclechat bkool racing is the right way forward just yet! There is lots of advice online that might help nip it in the bud for you if your pain is ITB related and a useful thread here with exercises too.

i would say its much much safer tackle in racing !! hope you can sort your knee out soon , ive been told that mine is worn away and will need replacing withing 2 years - nothing quite like the pain a dodgy knee can give when it gives you some gip

Perky is prime candidate to make team `not so red` probably/addition Or replacementfor me until I get another Bkool trainer. The kickr is no match for speed.

Besides the other guys would be able to hear each other without my big fan in the background:laugh:

Andy you can't leave 'team not red' bud! More members are obv welcome, especially if they own a tow rope! But it wouldn't be the same without the unbelievable noise of your industrial fan in the background amigo! ^_^

Nothing wrong with a disjointed mess - never did us any harm did it Team Blue?! ;)

Opening shots fired! :gun:

Afternoon all.
I doubt i will be bkooling for some weeks. My ITB issue has reared its freaking painful head again and i need time to recover and get some physiotherapy done. I blame 10 days of being on holiday and lots of walking but no cycling :sad:Honest, if you have not had ITB issues be aware that for those of us ageing cyclists it is quite common and you may want to ensure you are working on those muscles groups to reduce the risk. I will look in every now and again though especially once AAAC gets his new bkool pro :okay:

Bob, really good luck with the recovery mate. Hope you find a way of managing it.

You can only join if you have a medical issue from heart problems though to dodgy joints and the like.
No affliction is too gross, we take them all young and old!!!
If your affliction is not painful enough we even have a member with an S&M shed to make even the bits that work OK painful.
No memberhip fee required just a wonky bit.

I won't be there. Had to get my one out of the way early. Hurst/Wokingham is hard when you are doing it solo :B).

Ok well unless anyone suggests otherwise I will start the "Hurst Wokingham" stage of the current chaingang league from the league tab - join from the live tab if you want to join in. I will start it at 7pm with a 10 minute warm up for a 7.10 start

Thanks Tommy, I don't want to hold the team back with my slower kickr. I will join in and see how I fair. Until I get another Bkool trainer I reckon that the kickr is speed limited by 10%.
It was quite interesting to see Graham Ash in the Summer Cup. knocking out more power than AAAC with equivalent W/Kg but ending up some 10 mins slower. I could always weight adjust to compensate but I think the other teams would not be too pleased.
Open to comments especially from Geoff on what weight would equal out my kickr performance

I had mine done for Team White. Had it on the side of my neck as agreed .... it says "Team White Rules" .... well it would have done, but there wasn't enough space for the word "Team" .... Strangely, I always get a seat now on the tube and no one sits next to me
Hahahahaha
