You can use a power meter with a non-smart trainer, but I'm not sure if you can for smart trainers. I think Zwift is the same in that you can use a non-smart trainer or even rollers with a power meter but if using a smart trainer it has to use the power data provided by the trainer. That's my understanding anyway, happy to be corrected!
It worked for me with Auto Pairing:

It felt like a normal ride, just with accurate watts.

Ah, interesting - sorry I didn't pick up on that earlier.

The thing is, does Bkool use your power meter to actually work out the speed, or is it taking speed from the roller in the same way as normal, but just displaying your power meter data instead of it's own power calculation?

Edit: If the second is true, your speed/time would be the same on any given ride as if you'd ridden without the power meter, it would just show a different power reading based on your power meter instead of its own calculation

Could be interesting to know and should be simple to test. I could just do two velodrome sessions averaging the same power.

Thank you sir.
Bear in mind that for the velodrome stage we've just done you'll have to ride the velodrome (by challenging one of our rides?) and then do a minute on the Col de la Madeleine from the league tab and save that too.

This is because you can't actually include the velodrome in leagues for some reason so this is the way around it that Bill has set up.

Ok, thank you.

I think I follow you. I'll give that a go tomorrow in the re-run if I'm accepted by then.

Cheers Mr. Bridgy

Jim. I don't see you in the list of group members or those requested to join. You'll need to request to join from the bkool website. there's no way for us to add your name without you doing that first. Post here when you've done that then you'll be ready to join the race tomorrow.
