I did stage 2 of the "Be Afraid" league tonight - Col d'Aspin - and I thought it hurt more than the first stage even though it was much shorter. It's not so steep so you constantly feel you should be pushing harder and maybe in the next gear up, rather than accepting you just have to spin a nice low gear and get into a rhythm! Legs ache a bit now

Bob, how on earth did you get the time and watts you did? Very impressive - here, have one of these :notworthy:

Thanks bridgy.
It could be firmware, perhaps whatever causes Lb to q some of his rides. It might be that my front wheel is lifted quite high by a cyclops wheel thingy so my weight is very much over the rear wheel. It might also be that for the first time in many months I have hardly any ITB/knee pain. so I can spin a bit faster and harder without consciously or subconsciously easing off. Or any combination .. or not. Anyway, it still hurts and rather a lot!

I had proper No 2 today!
I'm well pleased after 9 days of 'fast food'.
I had a vision of all my BKool sessions being punctuated with 3 minute 0 Watt's periods whilst I ran to the boys room.
Jest need to get rid of the chesty cough now!

Did you not take some bran flakes?!? I always take some on holiday just in case:okay:
Congratulations, that must have been a relief^_^

I wasn't meaning to cast any doubt on your ride - was just thinking there was no way I could get close to your time having just pushed pretty hard and was impressed!

Interesting what you say about having the front wheel higher as was just thinking about doing that for more comfort myself. I was thinking of a book under the bkool front wheel base but do you have a pic or link to what you use?

Bridgy, I didn't read it that way. Pleasantly surprised myself and interested as to why.

LIVING THE DREAM

I'm glad the weight lost bug went before the chesty cough really set in otherwise it could have been carnage.
