Due to having a long list of chores to do around the house i'm unable to get out on the bike today - anyone up for joining me for more of a steady ride @ 5 o'clock today, I have a 31 mile course that is available in 3D view (Cheddar, Villages training loop) - pace around 20mph on the flat sections, re-group after the climbs.

Monte,
Sounds good but we will be entertaining here so just about to have a go at bonnet. Or at least start it and see how things go. A trundle around Zwifts Watopia is more enticing with a mountain that is less than 6km in length^_^

And they may do more than 3 of those in one stage of 3 weeks racing.
That's when you realise it's a little lame comparing our one off 1 hour efforts with say the finale of a stage ending on Alp d'Huez!
Isn't the IRL record for d'Huez something like 35 minutes.......just done some digging on google...
All-time Top 100 fastest rides on the legendary Alpe d'Huez

1995: 36:40 Marco Pantani 22.58 km/h.
1997: 36:53 Marco Pantani 22.45 km/h.
1994: 37:15 Marco Pantani 22.23 km/h.
2004: 37:36 Lance Armstrong 22.02 km/h.
1997: 37:40 Jan Ullrich 21.98 km/h.
2001: 38:03 Lance Armstrong 21.76 km/h.
...........
For yestedays.....torture rack...

The current record for ascending Mont Ventoux is held by Spanish cyclist Iban Mayo. In the 2004 edition of the Dauphineé Libéré race a mountain time trial was held from Bedoin to the summit and Mayo climbed the mountain in an unbelievable 55' 51".

For the record, Lance Armstrong set the fastest time of 48:33 for the final 15km of Mont Ventoux in 2002. Alberto Contador set the second fastest time of 48:57 in 2009, while Marco Pantani and Armstrong stopped the clock in 48:59.
The last 3 were probably at the end of a TdF stage

I think Nairo Quintana holds what is considered the fastest non-doped time in history, right around Bridgy's time. It is for the "long" version though, just a bit further than the tourist office.

I MIGHT join you at 5pm. But it is a might. Not only do I need to make sure all my chores are done, I need to get bike ready and find some inclination from somewhere. If I do it, I will only be going very steadily.

I may regret this, after the pain that was Ventoux,.

I have decided to do the bkool London to Brighton next Sunday .
http://www.bkool.com/profile/detail/238414?durationType=DISTANCE&lapCount=1

This is not going to be a race or anything other than a brisk-ish trundle, for me. The target is <4 hours, but I'll take any time as a guide for DD95.

All are welcome to join and zoom off into the distance :headshake:. Start time will probably be 9 or 10am .

I'll try. But don't wait up if I fall behind. I'll search for loop under live at 5 your time.

Might join you if I can, but not sure yet as I might be visiting family around that time

I tried to do the last chaingang stage today, but the damn thing froze on me :cursing:.

What do you think of the new UI ?
It's really a step backwards IMO. I now have to have a keyboard beside me.
Why the huge black box right where all the action take place?
Why so little info in such a huge box?
Why use such small fonts?
Why do I now need to enter password every time i login, just because I was thrown out by Bkool once (no "remember me" checkbox).

That is just a few of a long list. I have officially lost patience and I'm going to take a closer look at Zwift.

I don't enter my password, I just get logged in? There was a issue when this first launched with passwords needing to be reset. Since then I get put straight in bsim's main page. I still suffer from bsim crashes though. But I think it is most likely the nuc drivers at fault, I can't seem to get them to update :cursing:.

Yes the interface, although prettier, is not as user friendly. The limitations on numbers of sessions displayed for each catagory can be frustrating :banghead:.
