I watched part of the Chaingang. Bill agonisingly getting close to Bridgy`s ghost then just drifting back. Tommy mighty strong tonight, but feel for your frustration as soon as you hit the inclines speed was scrubbed despite putting in a lot of watts.

Well done everyone
Yes I got agonizingly close without actually getting into the draft at that point. Got some earlier drafting but when I challenged Bridgy's ghost I realised I had little or no chance of keeping up. Actually I had to challenge someone as the ride was not in the sims league selection rides initially. It's also now not possible to switch the ghosts off once you've logged into the ride. It was with the last version.

Well you beat my Thursday time Tommy so you're now quicker than me on an off day so that's a good improvement on last year. You were blistering at the start and I was telling you to slow down in my head so we could do some drafting and you seemed to hear me. I had almost forgotten about Bridgy as he didn't appear for the first minute or so. I was then surprised how long we were able to stay with him. Then unfortunately the gradient came and you couldn't hang on. You may well be a new front runner on the flatter chaingang stages if you can replicate your todays ride. That'll be something to look forward to.

Cheers Bill that's high praise indeed coming from someone as fast as you.

Not going to make it sorry. Wife is working right where turbo is set up. Just asked if I could use it, and got 'the look!' You know the one?
Mrs Sv8 is a head teacher, I don't do things just for fear of getting the look.

How are people finding the current update on Zwift with regards to stated power and virtual speed when compared to other trainers?
I've heard there Bkool can read up to 30% high is this still the case or has it improved? I don't often get a chance to compare and do not wish to be amongst those considered as trainer dopers

That is not my experience. I wish I was as fast in Zwift as I am in Bkool. After the last update it is possible the readings are closer. But I need to put out more power in Zwift to reach the same speed in Bkoo.

You could of course choose a similar training workout in both , or create one if necessary and see what your readings are with your turbo. Might be interesting!

Bkool's own trainer gives approximately 40 Watts over read for powerful riders and 3-4 mph advantage in speed

See my two velodrome runs, one with a kickr, I actually set my weight lower to 80KG as an experiment.

Ave 28.1 Mph 320 Watts

This one on a new Bkool Pro (just a few days later)

Ave 31.9 Mph Watts 362

If you want to train only, doesn't matter a whole lot, unless you're comparing with another power meter= then problems

If you want to compete in races, you really need to be on the same trainer.

Yeah I'm not sure where you getting your information from, from my personal experience I find it very difficult to get the watts that would match my fitness (I use a Powertap power meter on my road bike so I have a rough idea), I struggle to hold 200 watts in a hour session on zwift, I can do 250 watts on a flattish road ride...

The bkool trainer paired with the bsim software at the moment is the closest to reality since I started the world of virtual cycling March 2015.

I've let my zwift subscription lapse, again I personally found a lot of bullshit numbers flying around.

There's a satisfaction when I look up our league results and see most people on the same trainer, now I know that not every trainer will be identical but it's going to be a closer than zwift.

I have just read a very long thread on the Facebook Zwift page and users are reporting Zwift reading a recently calibrated wahoo kickr as only 1watt out compared to their powertap pedals. Some people had to recalibrate due to weather temp changes with the arrival of winter.
