I found that even at reduced watts and speed I hit deadstops 3x yesterday which came as a real surprise. The hardest to get through were on the 12% gradients the last of which just before the end left me struggling to turn the pedals against the resistance.

It is clear that not only are they yapping at our heels we are clearly riding in a harsher and less friendly virtual cycling environment than last year....

Loads of people have the same red x as you and it is just that bkool set things up badly when they rode the league software. I think it just means that you changed your weight during the league which is fine as far as cyclechat leagues are concerned. It'll always be approved when one of the admins remembers to check and you can always remind us here as you did.
And, yes, at 74 kg you are quite a bit lighter than me so was only kidding in my previous response.

It seems like they rely on our lazy administrators to workaround a problem that sounds like a bug. I am sorry, you will have to keep validating my results. I will try to set my weight to 75kg before the next race and set it back to 74kg. Maybe it will remove the 0kg from the history.

This is a perfect example of a lazy fob off, and not taking the time to properly look at the problem.

The problem is clearly not that the administrator has your session pending review, the problem is that your expected weight is 0! Clearly it is not possible for you to set your weight to 0, so your sessions will always go for review, when they need not!

This kind of lazy first line support infuriates me!

I can hear a rubbing noise from my bkool pro and want to investigate. It lloks pretty straightforward to remove the casing around the unit. Has anyone done this?

Yes bob, very straightforward. Undo all screws underneath, two halves come apart and circle vent piece comes off. Not a lot to see, flywheel, printed circuit board and stepper motor at back. When re assembling watch how mating surfaces match up. That's it.
