Off the bike since Tuesday handicap race and unlikely to ride over the next week or so. Never thought I would be having trainer withdrawals, but I do....

Merry Christmas chaps!

I hope you and your families have a great holiday. You've all been a fantastic motivator over the last year as well as becoming good mates along the way :hugs:.

Now go and eat lots of food and drink far far too much. Then maybe I'll actually win a race one day!

Merry Christmas. @BILL S and @berty bassett who won? You both disappeared at the same time after changing the lead several times in the last 100 yards. The stats show you with the exact same times.
Because of the name of the course I decided to ride it at an easy pace.

Almost in the mood to restart my bkool sub  I miss dicing with Bill up climbs in the league :P

Come back who ever you are, no disrespect intended, the more the merrier literally. It's a great place to ride a bike indoors. We winge and gripe but we are a family of friend's (cyclechat friends!).
There is a place for every one, last, in the middle and even second to DP (fet begger) but together we are one (bunch of pain loving idiots).

Randy, it was so close at the end I'm not quite sure, but I think on the road Berty won by a fraction of a second. Unfortunately it's not possible to see in the league results as my Thursday time was my quicker one. Felt sorry for you back there all alone and still having to slog it out after we had left.
Thanks for the explanations. I wondered what fertleks were

The first VR trainer I had back in 1999 came with a program called ultracoach and it would recommend a fartlek ride about every 5th day. I always thought it meant a slow easy ride and that's how I rode them. I was supprised just now when I googled and realized I was wrong.
Like everyone else I will thank you for setting these up.

I always thought it was fart legs.
When I was 'good' in the Army cycling world my best mucker pre-Army was big in Inter Services and UK long distance runner and he used to go on about fart legs all of the time.
Now I am older I understand fart legs totally.
I am one and CB is another but for different reasons.

PS. Still not touched the 'Wiskey' but I am sat on my todd listening to 'Wiskey in the Jar'.!
Those were the days. I took the PSS out of Status Quo the other day and low and behold today it's RIP, respect SQ I loved you as a teen!

To discuss the meaning of "fart", without anyone having a little giggle is probably going to be hard, but here goes ^_^:
Middelfart is a city that lies on Fyn just across from Jutland
Directly translated "middel" is middle and "fart" is speed, but in the old days "fart" was used to express going/traveling, mostly by sea.
So Middelfart means something like "The waters traveling between".
It makes sense since the spot where Middelfart lies, is where crossing between Fyn and Jutland has taken place for centuries.

We actually still use the word "fart" in conjunction with traveling: færgeoverfart = ferry crossing.

Haha none taken. I'm known as Chris B [TMCC] in the virtual cycling world, sometimes in real life

JLaw, what can possibly be so important to keep you off the bike? Feed the need... I hope you don't lose any fitness, it would be awaful to have a little company at the back... :bicycle:
