Is the pain happening just on the turbo or on the road as well. You made me nervous about my own set up and have just checked my saddle height.
If I added 4 cm I'd create a problem that Mrs Pig would get upset about! (I checked the leg angle once connected to the pedal which has come out around 28 degrees so pretty much spot on.)
However, I have found that I am likely over reaching when on the hoods so will probably have to get a shorter stem. Its a good exercise as actually I have found that I have been getting pain in my right elbow without looking into why, but having checked this is likely caused by over extension.
So thanks LBHIFI for the proverbial kick up the a**e to go and check my own setup!
Unfortunately I don't get out much! I think it's the static position for such a period whilst being too stretched out with all the gear changes (I don't have a fan), but having looked at my positioning I could do with reducing the stem from 115 mm to around 90mm, although I need to check my back angle before confirming! Is the pain happening just on the turbo or on the road as well.
If it's just on the turbo and your using a big fan it might just be wind chill.
It happened to me so I bought and elbow support from boots and that sorted it.
And me he was only 3 minutes faster than meI'm feeling slightly honoured that he challenged me, I had a you've been beaten email from Jacob for the Rio Tri course this morning.
I'm 190 with long skinny legs and a wingspan of 2 meters, but we maneged to find a good position anyway. Will post pictures later this evening.Unfortunately I don't get out much! Bike fitting for me is fairly awkward as I'm 186cm but with relatively long legs and shorter body/reach!
What make of chain is it? How did you fix the chain?Chain just exploded off the bike and whilst back on it won't stay in gear, keeps slipping out. Can't get in top gear at all. Any ideas? Prety much won't hold any gearOff to bike shop tomorrow! I was looking forward to that ride too as I was working nicely with @Jim Brown 's ghost Might as well get a beer then

it had come off the front ring and over the pedals. I had to hold the rear derailer in to get the chain back on the front ring and back over the pedals. No idea the make - came with the Boardman bikeWhat make of chain is it? How did you fix the chain?
Had it less than a year ... only ever used it on the turbo. About 2000 kms? Maybe 3k Lots of grinding on the turbo so maybe it's stretched? I was hitting about 350 watts when it shot off. It's not holding the gears on the rear ring. The first place to start is with the chain whorty. Any idea how many miles it's done?
When you say its not holding the gears is it slipping or moving up/down on the cassette?Had it less than a year ... only ever used it on the turbo. About 2000 kms? I know nothing about mechanics so it's off to Halfords tomorrow for some spotty teenager to help me![]()
it's kind of moving up and down the gears ... so i select a gear, it may then slip to a lower gear then back again. Not holding the top gear at all. was working fine until the chain shot offWhen you say its not holding the gears is it slipping or moving up/down on the cassette?
Edit: I would go for a KMC chain or SRAM rather than shimano as they use a link section rather than a special pin as per the shimano - I've only ever had problems with shimano chains and my KMC's have been perfect with better shifting.
If you are not a mechanic go to a bike shop like you plan to.it's kind of moving up and down the gears ... so i select a gear, it may then slip to a lower gear then back again. Not holding the top gear at all. was working fine until the chain shot off
