This spring my ftp was 360 measured with quarq and I'm just an average M40-rider.
Jeppe Tolbøl is an average B-rider and have done several ftp-tests over 400 watt this season.
Of course there is a huge difference between 20 min and 1 hour.

Your 20 minute average is not your FTP, you should take 95% of your 20 minute average to approximate your FTP.

If you quote an FTP it should not be a 20 minute average.

The percentage varies from which expert 90,91,92%. Mine is about 90%

I used to be able to average just over 300W on a KICKR (with power meter) for the 20 minute Bkool test (more on a Bkool Pro) but struggled to hold 270W for 10 minutes on a real life climb (8% gradient).

I've read many times that power averages in real life don't match the ideal circumstances of a trainer with constant resistance and no external influences (wind, road surface, debris, traffic, etc .), so I guess a bkool 20 minute average is very much a generous measure, and a real world FTP (1 hour) would likely be around 10-15% or so lower.

Still very impressive figures, mind!

Great effort - at the end of May I was fairly close I think but since then I've deteriorated and you've clearly come in leaps and bounds. Good effort

I've had a few changes since May that has helped somewhat. Pumping my tyres up to 100 psi has certainly helped. Found out I have asthma and that was hindering my breathing but I think I've got that under control now - means I can push harder for longer without blowing up. 3rd change was getting a fan - I'm no longer overheating ... which is nice

That's the one I forfeit 10 minutes on so took it easy - thankfully I don't have to do that one at full fury

I used to be able to drink 12 pints of Guinness and walk home.
Well I think it was 12 but I only had the money missing from my wallet to go by.
If I still had my wallet that is.
And when I say home I mean somewhere that I thought was home even if it turned out to be a pile of rubble covered with a tarp.

The moral of the story is don't try to measure everything so accurately rather just enjoy the moment while you still can.

To be honest if I drank 12 pints now and made it home I would be as good as dead anyway

You're very welcome @Whorty ! That was a re-run of stage 5 of the SC in a bid to improve my time - I included your ghost as you were (rudely!) ahead of me on the stage. I was ahead of you all the way but blimey you pushed me hard and were really catching me towards the end. Was that the stage you did your "cheat experiment" on? (please say yes!)
