Oh I see what you mean. The chain is oversized in length, it accommodates a 40t rear sprocket for mountain climbing, the rear derailleur isn't at maximum capacity. Hopefully I will still be able to cross chain big/big, not an issue if I cant.

Go with it. I qualified for a blue shirt on one of the handicap rides. It was quite amusing watching people come into a session and dropping out when they saw a sea of blue shirts in our chaingang sessions on thursdays afterwards

Cheaper 44T chain ring arrived, fitted and works in the sense there is clearance for the front derailleur. Just need to shim it a tad and longer chainring bolts.

@Whorty I thought about basking in the glory of being the crème de la crème until my conscience (or what's left of it) got the better of me. I'm now back to being a lowly red shirt but have gone from Active 6 to Active 9. So all those mountain climbs on BigRingVR must have paid off. I'm now working on my fitness as I can see Pro 1 lurking in the distance.
