My god, Daddy P. That does sound serious . Perhaps it's time for some late 19th century training tips:

"Have a good enema. Try to lay off the beer and stick to Champagne instead"

True words from an old cycling training book my brother owns - really funny stuff in that book  .
It's been 8 weeks of no exercise and a couple if beers each night. Just did stage 5 as well, that was a real struggle physically and mentally! Children are bad for your health...!

Flatlining is what my heart wants to do. Just riden cgs 1,2,3 & 4 in a row and just about to go into my death throws... got off (fell off) the bike, blurred vision, hr in the 180's and not even yearning for a beer... it's all wrong wrong wrong...

Fantastic effort there DP :notworthy: especially considering your lack of activity lately. Your first rides are most impressive but it's reassuring to see that even you were tailing off a bit towards the end. Well I haven't seen your stage 5 ride yet but I'm assuming you didn't quite manage to stay with Bridgy and AAAC.

Stage five was cycling with my arse on the floor slowing me down! Slow last half going at around 30kph! So that what zero glycogen feels like! Still , 50 odd miles was ok for a start!

He certainly did. I think he's really just been over at zwift training and was too embarrassed to say.

@BILL S Can you help me out and tell me where I went wrong. I recently signed up for the Chain gang league and had a go of the 5 September stages today. I read the FAQs, obviously not hard enough, and thought I'd copied the stages into my scheduled sessions correctly. After I'd opened Bsim I saw the stages, but looking back now that I've completed them, I could have sworn they appeared in the "programmed sessions" with no sign of a "Leagues" session anywhere. Bit of a shame that I don't appear on the league table but my main aim is to try to keep fit and lose weight. (plenty of the former but not much of the latter I'm afraid)
Having re-read the FAQs I tried copying the stages again but this time when I opened Bsim there was a "Leagues" session with all the stages I'd copied. I take it that had I completed these stages my results would have appeared in the Chain gang league.
Seem to remember the same thing happened last night when I tried to join Stage 5 at 7.00pm. I couldn't see any other participants so gave up after a few minutes. Can you only see others in the league if you join by the correct method?
Apologies for the ramble but I hope you get the jist.

Regards

Dave

When you open the bsim do you click on the 'my sessions' tab at the bottom?

Yes I did. Is that where I went wrong?
No, not for solo rides. You just choose those from the my sessions set and then choose the ride from the top row of rides, not sure what it calls them.
If its on a league night you need to search for one of the regulars who gets there early such as bill or bridgy or whorty or aaac to make sure you join everyone else.

Dave - I find the best way to pull up past Chain Gang stages is to go into the stage results from the League tab on the website, and Challenge someone who has already completed the stage and whose time is shown.

It should then appear in your Scheduled sessions as a league event - you will also get the benefit of the challenged ghost, and any other ghosts who completed the stage at the same time.
