I don't think the blue numbers are a problem, they are just showing you that momentum and /or gravity are adding some extra speed on top of what you are pedalling. Same as real world when you freewheel. Same effect in Zwift just that it doesn't show as blue so in Zwift you can't see so obviously.

It was the silly high blues on the uphills that were a problem but I think these have gone now.
I don't think thats's how it works in BSim, at least not in my setup. When there are blue numbers, nothing I do will make any difference to my speed. Only when I put out enough power to overcome the blue number, will my speed change.

I was coming straight from Thursdays live Bkool race, so that would probably have been pushing it .

I had hoped my new setup would have straighten things up in BSim, but it looks like nothing has changed. I must admit I find it hard to se how I could enjoy the October league. My main problem is uphill, but kind of downhill too, since there does not seem to be much I can do about blue numbers on anything less than -7%. The effort required for that was downright silly at 800 real watts, and that should be held for a extended period if it should register in BSim.
I kind of agree with Whorty's comment on this unless we're misunderstanding you?

I find the only way to overcome the blue numbers downhill is to spin the rear wheel up to a speed higher than the blue speed showing - which for me is about 50mph (with great effort and for a very short time!) So any speed around this or higher and there's no point even trying. This seems OK to me, and reasonably similar to what you'd find in the real world.

It does mean that on some of these stages there will be long sections where in theory you could just soft pedal and it won't make any difference to the speed compared to spinning like crazy. On stage 1 I just kept pedalling anyway to ensure I got a workout and tried really hard to get the speed up on the less steep sections. Still did half an hour with average 161bpm so a reasonable workout!

Yes, this is right. Similar to in the real world, when going down a steep downhill, pedalling will only make any difference if you can pedal so fast you can make the rear wheel go even faster than gravity is already making it go. I don't have a problem with it myself

In the real world there's no resistance until you pedal fast enough to match the speed. In Bsim I had to push 800 REAL watts just to get to that point. And that is not all. If I just spin up to the 800 watt and rest, it doesn't register in bsim. I need to hold it for 10 seconds or so, just to make the slightest difference, and as soon as I stop it plummets down to blue number again. Hardly worth the effort, but a damn good workout ^_^.

In Zwift at 73k plus 9k bike it is easy to freewheel to 60-65km an hour on a descemt of 5% or more. The longer/ steeper the decent the faster you will go. On the NEO you then have to put down huge watts to get past gravity/momentum to get to point resistance kicks in and you can generate additional speed. It is rarely worth the effort.
What I recall of bsim is that I always had to generate some power downhill but then it has been a long time.

Fired the turbo up in preparation of my appointment. It's only started working again. Not sure if I'm happy or not which is odd ...

I suppose at least I've got a turbo until the new one turns up and that's been put back a few weeks by wattbike. But I'm thinking if it packs up again in a few weeks I'm not in warranty anymore.

Kind of hard to have any sympathy for a guy in second place.

Randy my complaint is really not about not being 1st, 2nd or whatever. It's about losing touch with BSim racing. My setup seems to behave different in a way that I can't race with others up- and downhill. Maybe it'll work in the velodrome, but I fear I'm loosing the battle to the dark side
