Thanks Geoff, definitely up for that - sounds great! Also good practice for the Nations Cup Team Time Trial....

TTT rules for the NC will be:
- 5 man teams, and time is taken for the 4th man across the line
- If s rider starts early by accident, he must stop immediately in from of the start and wait there until his team starts at the right time
- If a team catches another team, the slower team must let them overtake and must not draft on the overtaking team. (unless the last kilometer of the race)
- There is a penalty of 1 second per second a team drafts another team
- The slower team must not try to overtake again for 1 kilometer

The course being used for the TTT in the NC is http://www.bkool.com/profile/detail/2534193.

What happens if you overtake without trying?

Also:
If we start behind the Spaniards we should go balls out to overtake them then sit up to hold them back so that the Danes win!

If we can get at least 15 riders next week, we could go for a Team Time Trial?

Perhaps something like...

Team Beige - Steve, Bert, Jim, Whorty, Del, Rob (if others with Start Times below 4:00 show up we could possibly make one more team)

Team (Not) Red - Adam, Andy, Per, Baldy, Aleman, Lars, JJ, Keith (depending on how many are confirmed starters)

Team Blue - Peter, Bill, Bridgy, AAAC and Tommy (and perhaps Daddy Pig)?

If a few more show up then four teams are possible, can we get an indication of who's a likely no-show and who's a likely show, then we can firm up over the weekend.

Cheers,

Geoff
Should be there :okay:

Provisional Handicaps for next time, with anomalous results and changes of trainers taken into account.

I've got to admit GB I am very disappointed with my new handicap.
I worked very hard for most of the race trying to make everyone else faster and thus narrow the gap to me and also tried very hard at the end not to win but I have ended up starting even later.

Carl the reason you find it more awkward to draft is that the power reading is very quick to react to the force you apply. That's why the power and speed profile is sawtooth. The Bkool smoothes the speed profile and calculated power is smooth. Overshoot happens because you get dropped quickly, up the power then fly by. A few times of that and boom, dropped.
Yep - that was me  Do you get the same on Zwift too? Or is that what the '3 second average' on Zwift is used for?

Agreed.
Have you had a chance to tuck in behind someone and get the benefit of the draft on the kickr?
I can draft OK on a velo using ghosts, and I could draft randy a bit last Thursday. I think yesterday i was just trying to draft riders going much faster than me and couldn't get the power right. Be interesting next week when I start with others of the same speed and see if that makes a difference.

Well time is irrelevant in the NC (apart from the TTT I suppose) - it's all about which position you finish in. So on that basis it would make more sense to base it on stage placings rather than overall time. Whether that will make logical sense at the end of the league though I don't know! First time we've done this so we'll have to make it up as we go along!
i'll adjust the spreadsheet to include points for finishing positions and we can see if it makes any difference! great distraction from proper work!

if indeed there is someone within seconds to begin with...or within minutes....
for me...that would be, well... as it currently stands....you @CXRAndy ^_^
...although I'm hoping a bit on Rod and @BaldyZ1 on Tuesday, to avoid cycling in no man's land again.
If you want to wait for me ... I'll work with you :okay::whistle:

i agree bill i wrote a sn
Anyone managing to latch onto the express train that is @AAAC 76C and @bridgy (thanks guys) for most of the session is bound to win on corrected times. My handicap time will suffer next time though so there's a price to pay.
Thoroughly enjoyable Geoff so thanks very much for organising for us. Also great fun to watch the vids afterwards. I'd much rather do the handicap races than the Winter Cup so count me in for next week and all future handicap races.
I agree Bill, the wintercup is pretty much dead in the water. I wrote a snotty email to them saying if they didn't update the leagues then it wasn't a league, just a series of rides everybody was doing! No reply yet! I'm really disappointed I can't make next tuesday, i have Padel every other tuesday, but this handicap thing has got me hooked so i'm going to try move padel night to mondays!

I was thinking the same ..... if it's not obvious who the top 5 are we could have a vote (I'd be happy to be PM'd people's votes for top 5 and report back) - all confidential of course

Ignore AAAC:tongue:

Kickr is much smoother on Zwift, your speed doesn't un-naturally accelerate, its very realistic speeds. The power smoothing is an option to further smooth the power reading to you. Obviously you are now seeing an accurate number you're producing, so don't be disappointed where your racing level drops to initially. It will improve as you get into racing.

 No, Total Time is the only important factor :ph34r:

:eek:Do that and I'll remove them, or at least alter the weighting :ph34r:

As Mr Unpopular, I'd be a shoe in for the 5th place so NO!:ph34r:
