@Mark68 as Brusgaard described earlier regarding doing the rides I was also confused when I started. If you click your activity you will see your recent rides and it will say league (October)
490695

Click October to bring up the stages
490697

Click the stage you want to do
490698

The press the challenge icon on the right hand side.
490699

This will take you to scheduled sessions and find the one you added and click the edit button to add more riders from the group and anyone else you want to receive an email of shame when you beat them. Finish by pressing the edit button after adding extra riders then in the leagues section on the sim you will find the session

Once upon a time, riders had to come here first to confirm a request to join the CG. Just because that rule has been relaxed in recent months doesn’t mean it no longer exists. If you suspect foul play - remove them.

I periodically remove members from my league who join but don’t ride any stages - they clutter up my group. If they want to ride in the future, they will rejoin.. 👍
Thx, I'm still learning at this and all help, and all opinions are happily received. I'm just the admin trying to make this the work for everybody, we all equally bust our guts in the league so all voices have a right to be listened to but those from experienced hands are especially welcome.

Guys I'd like your feedback.
There are a couple of riders, who don't contribute here and who achieve let's say dubious results on their rides and I'm wondering if I should be approving their rides.
On the one hand great, the more the merrier, but I don't like the league being distorted by rides that appear to fix to be true and by people we don't know.
I have no problem with losing, my God I learnt that lesson from @BILL S @Brusgaard and @AAAC 76C last winter but I don't particularly want to compete with somebody who beats me by over two minutes while producing 60% of their maximum output as per Xoaquim's attempt at stage 4. I'm not a bad rider, I win my age category in sportives and hold my own with the fast kids half my age but that's on a level playing field.
My question is should I approve the rides from dark and xoaquim or not?

Hi Keith. I've been having a think about this and I reckon the Chaingang league can't be very important to anyone who doesn't contribute to the forum here. While we try not to take things too seriously, I also think that we should try to keep a little bit of fairness in the competition, and although there's not much we can do about the occasional fairydust we're sometimes blessed with, we probably should try to do something about people constantly winning races while barely getting their heart rate into triple figures. I'd like to add that this is not me having a go at AAAC for coming 5th last night with a HR of only 8 bpm:notworthy:.
You certainly got the Chaingang numbers up by allowing all in, but I think we should do something about anyone with clearly protest-able results who we can't question as there's no way to contact them. The two you mentioned would be a good start I think, and the timing couldn't be better as the October league is over. What I mean is that now might be a good time to remove those with dubious setups rather than letting them do the ride then just not approving their result. Of course it is also possible to add time before approval so we could add 10 mins to someone's ride if we want to ;). What I suggest is we remove the offending riders from the group, and if any of them want to get in touch here then I'm sure we can come to an agreement with them to re-join. I'd also suggest we put a hold on letting in anyone who hasn't first posted here until the problem is solved.
Keith, I'm happy to do some "removing" (just let me know) so that if anyone gets in touch with you to complain, you can say it must have been one of the other admins that did it.
On another note, if you're in touch with bkool, maybe you could ask them if they can remove admins who have been inactive as we have two such admins on the chaingang group and this prevents us from having additional admins to help out.

Great post bill, thx. I think it is sound advice and I will do exactly as you suggest

@Randyberlin the snow canyon looked a nice ride. Cheers for the upload
Thanks. Out of probably 12 videos I've submitted the only 2 good enough are both downhill. All of the other ones have too much side to side movement. The owner of our local bike shop has a place down there. And the BKOOL USA rep Craig Harrison used to own a bike shop nearby. That location St. George Utah is a great winter mountain bike destination. I'm not a mountain biker and walked around most of the scary stuff on the "easy" trails.

Edit: that ride was on my road bike that I took but most of the week was on a rented mountain bike.

Thank you all for your help with explaining all the stuff I have been struggling to get my hear around.
I have been looking at what has been suggested and it is starting to make more sense so thanks again.
I not going to be able to get on the SIM for a few days, but already I am missing it ☹️ Another thing I have noticed is how helpful you all are and thanks for not making me feel stupid. Something which is occasionally lacking in various forums.
