not even as a trio we could claw back time from you keith :notworthy:maybe we were just happy to hold on to the others (at least I was) so instead of increasing speed I think maybe we even lost a little speed (thankfully).

You are right. I saw no point in trying to make a break, and was happy “resting” in the group. And yes, we were going quite slow. I did the same route 2 minutes faster back in November.

Quite slow ahhhh. I was at max and don't think I could have gone any quicker. Will have to have another go when I find some suitable legs.
Yes hats off to @keithaitch for a great ride. Don't know how he does it.

My brain says no, lungs and says yes. Did not want to wait. Had to wait. Stayed on your tail too long @keithaitch, so I had to back off and struggled at first to stay with @Brusgaard and @Mark68 when they came back...not even as a trio we could claw back time from you keith :notworthy:maybe we were just happy to hold on to the others (at least I was) so instead of increasing speed I think maybe we even lost a little speed (thankfully).
I was worried when I saw them catching you as it seems the new drafting does allow you to work together and I thought the three of you together might pull me back especially as the second half was more downhill but I tried to channel Thomas de gendt and managed to stay away.

I think the 220 - Age is just a guide. Using that formula mine would be 171 which actually was my average from the race. 😵
I'm hoping that MHR is literally the maximum that your heart can beat at, which i think I hit.
If you want to know for sure, do an exercise test. They will put you on a spinning bike and crank the resistance up to max over 30 minutes, all the time measuring heart rate, CO2, etc. Until you drop... my max is measured at HR178 with a max of 340W and FTP 265W. But everyone's different, even at the same age.

I still think this drafting is worlds apart from the old. But now the overshooting problem is much less so that part is good. So glass half full!

On mine the watts/kg was significantly higher tonight, and I haven't changed my weight, but the time was slower, something has been tweeked!
Yep reckon it's the descents in this one and maybe other tweaks in interim updates. Or maybe 'Very cloudy' was the key. ^_^

Yes, if felt slower, or rather I felt it was more difficult to maintain a highspeed in the 1 to -0,5 gradients. More resistance than usual. Tried another route after and felt something similar. Maybe. Not sure yet. Anyway, same for all.
But. Should have done the BWC stage 9 Tuesday. Fearing this might be another speedkiller update.

My weight is 1 kg higher than in the November ride. My ride back in November was in the Danish league, so probably lots of riders to draft. Didn’t even make it to the top 20, so the others were even faster.

Btw @Brusgaard what is your secret off the starting blocks (and @Mark68 if I recall correctly)? I always have to speed like a mad man to catch up. Still...these starts are less crazy than last year when the starts all but killed me. xx(

The “secret” is, that we use a Tacx trainer, that is much faster to respond/send the watts to simulator. Bkool Pro sends the speed of the roller, and BSIM then has to calculate the watts using their secret algorithm. This causes some lag in the beginning.

Back in V4 it was the other way around. The watts/speed from the Tacx’es (and other brands with a powermeter) had to be processed to calculate the speed, meaning they were really slow out of the blocks, much like the Pro these days.

ahh!
That makes sense but likewise I experience a lag in the reduction of resistance as well.
It is a bit annoying increasing your tempo and getting nowhere and then overshooting your mark as well.
