I normally have my tea. Baked beans scrambled egg bacon toast or similar. I believe the most important time to eat is within the first 30 mins or so after exercise. Correct me if I'm wrong people. That doesn't mean 🍰 and chocolate and 🍺.
Similar, no pre or post supplements or shake but always try and eat as soon as possible - well after staring brain dead at results for a bit. My households food choices probably aren't so healthy as that though. Pizza and curry have featured several times in post race nutrition - earned it,... right!?

The goal of training is to improve your muscles and loose weight. So you don't have a large [fatty] meal after training. This is the most made mistake. So don't do a pizza. However, you need to digest some protein rich recovery food, like eggs, chicken, fish, cottage cheese etc. But not too much, else you will digest more calories than you have burned away during the exercise. And of course, enough fluids. There's pleny of information on this on the internet. After a training, I usually eat a bucket of yoghurt or cottage cheese.
The timeframe of 30 minutes is correct, as your body is still in work-out mode and will consume the food optimally to start the recovery.

@Bored Man

Where are you at?

I wont now be able to complete the Feb rides, sorry. I am in the Alps for the next two Thursdays but will try to catch up when I get back. Hopefully the altitude training will help!
I guess I misunderstood what that whole Brexit thing. I didn’t know it meant all of you had to leave.
Edit: or is it just you guys from Scotland?
