Do I detect a smirk?

Thank you Randy, ShimCeltic et al. Thank you, also, to whoever added me to the BKOOL Group. It is all becoming clearer, slowly but surely.

I have my excuse cards at the ready (I genuinely have no fan, and a wonky floor in the cellar, and my wife won't let me put my bike in the spare room instead, and I have a non-sleeping baby, so I am well-stocked on the excuse front).

I might struggle for 6pm, but it looks like I can still do the same route at a different time and my time will be "counted" in the league (albeit I will miss out on the joy of e-team riding)?

Notes for next week: get a fan; put something under turbo to make it less wonky; put bike in spare room; get a new load of new excuses at the ready.

Genuine excuse / question... I got stuck pedalling but going nowhere on the start line, so had to leave and come back in, in order to get moving. Does anybody know why...?

Oh yes! I know why!!

you need to stop pedalling before the count down timer gets to zero, and start pedalling as soon as the event starts. Or it assumes you’re still warming up!

Basically stop any peddling with 30s to go before the start and make sure you don't start slightly early. When choosing a fan buy a bigger 1 than you think you need.

I have been running with a 20" fan, which is bloomin noisy at full chat, and hums loudly when powered down with my fan controller :cursing:

So I treated myself to one of these

Very similar to the Kicker fan in design, without the HR linkage, but half the price ... Bloody good too

LIVING THE DREAM
Good race @AAAC 76C I thought you had me with about 800 to go, but then y when I started to come back I just I i I just kept going ¡
I was making a vain attempt to beat Thursdays time.
I went out far to quick and my effort was not going to be sustainable so I 'waited' for you and whoever came with you in the hope we could make better time as a group.
We needed to average 41.5kph to match my previous time and about 42 to bridge the overall gap to @perswe.
With about a km to go we were still on 40kph average so I sat up disappointed and knackered.
I might have to ride stage 3 again instead.

Wow - lots of folks on the run today, figure Shimceltic's DT Mozzarella wheels attracted a number of non league riders. Also found riding the Wahoo Kicker Bike is a lot different than my Keiser M3i, think I will need to do a bit of tuning on things like gearing to get power and speed up - fun though.
Was good to see his and I think his bro, plus Wentworth. A few missing also. When we can get most on at the same time there will be challenges for all.
