well that reminded me of the time I necked a can of coke just before a ride - the feeling of hurling at any minute loomed over my head - and it was the first time this year I had to trot across the garden to the shed and get in before I froze

Not me. Once is good enough.
Talk about bad drivers, I did the craziest ride in Vietnam on Bkool where whomever filmed it rode in and out of traffic with mopeds darting everywhere. I flinched more than once.
Edit: spellchecker changed it to whomever. I never know when to use it.

I did 45km Lago di Resia route today. Very enjoyable route, nice views as well. over 300m elevation and very easy end.
