Telling childern fairies dont exsist

ok i had to stop myself last night from telling my daughter (11 yrs old ) the the tooth fairy does not exsist but what with xmas not far away thought best wait till after xmas to explain that santa claus and the tooth fairy ARE NOT REAL !!!

and as we all know the only true fairy is the puncture fairy

You've got to gently break the truth to them some time. Take her to the zoo, tell her to look closely at an elephant's feet and then ask her whether she thinks Fanta claws exist. Then you'll be halfway there.

This. For years my dad insisted that a little man lived inside the TV drawing the pictures. Of course, when I have kids thats exactl;y the sort of thing I'm going to tell them.

That Cottingley thing is one of my all-time favourite little stories.



When I have grandchildren and they stay over I'm going to make some fairies, stick them down the bottom of the garden and light 'em up.
