Unfortunately due to where we live our freeview TV coverage doesn't give us the full set of channels and Dmax is one of the missing ones. I can't find an app for my Android devices or Amazon fire stick either to access this - does anyone know if I can get this channel via streaming? My wife recently signed up for NOW TV but of course the HBO MAX option in it just seems to list the crappy dramas, documentaries and assorted guff.

Nope. It used to be free on the Discovery app but that, like Quest is now gone. I now set a tiner to record the Moto GP on freeview to get around that problem. Samsung TV plus apparantly has Quest, but no Dmax.

Another app, EurovisionSport has limited cycling, the minor Tour of Hellas there to watch.

I managed to watch DMAX highlights yesterday via Discovery+ on my tablet. I turned it on at 7.50 (so about 50 minutes into the programme) and rewound it to the start.

I noticed a cast button so tried to use Chromecast but it jumped forward to live and there was no option to rewind. There's a list of channels within the app, and I had to scroll quite far to the right (through a load of random Discovery Channels) to find it, but it is there

Ah yes, just don't sign in ! And on a TV app clear all data to re-enable the 'browse'.
Some free stuff there too but not replays of cycling. The bit of free things also hints that, signed out, browse is not time limited.

Is there any more info about free-to-air coverage for the TDF? As my office's resident cycling fan, I'm being asked. I know there'll be something, I just haven't seen any announcements yet

It's likely to be on freesat/freeview channels Quest or DMax, which are owned by WBD, who own TNT or whatever it's called this week, and will be presented by Orla Chennaoui, Matt Stephens, Robbie McKewan et al. It's most likely to be their 'highlights' programme, not live coverage of each stage. We've just enjoyed the Giro highlights on SBS, which is better that the TNT version, but nothing like as good as the ITV4 Imlach et al highlights programme used to be, which was properly edited and prepared as well managing to create an exciting live feel to it. But of course they've got rid of that now.

No announcement, just the HBO bosses trying to cajole the other free channels into buying the highlights off him as he plays chicken with schedule deadlines: 'There will be a free-to-air product' – TNT Sports hints at free Tour de France coverage from this summer | Cycling Weekly – https://www.cyclingweekly.com/news/...free-tour-de-france-coverage-from-this-summer

I suspect the UK will be stuck with chopped-down TNT shows on the very-low-bitrate DMAX UK again. If BBC were to buy the rights, probably for a two-year deal to get next year's UK stages, coverage would look much sharper but scheduling probably far worse.

A better quality bitrate Dmax is in the app. You can browse to view the highlights 'live' at 7pm, but only if not logged into the app !

There is no UK DMAX app and do you want its US owners tracking you anyway?

Just watching the MotoGP sprint live on Quest. On Fire TV Discovery Plus, free, it is at only 450p picture resolution. So I switched to Android TV, simply because my Android TV ox claims good AI upscaling.
