Hoping the men’s final is a lot more exciting. If they both play to their full potential and there’s no injury niggles it should be a great match. The only thing is, I don’t particularly have a favourite so don’t really mind who wins. I might root for Sinner since he hasn’t won Wimbledon before.

Looks as if Wimbledon is going to get two champion dopers.
Did any of you watch the US Open final?
Only 4 sets, but my goodness Alcaraz, aside from a drop in the 2nd set, was on fire.
That 2nd set loss was the only set he lost in the entire championship.
Probably one of the most complete tennis displays I have ever seen, from all areas of the court.
Two contributory factors, though neither would have changed the course of the game in my opinion.
Sinner's serve was not working very well, at least 4 double faults I witnessed.
Alcaraz's serve was in the groove, not a single double fault, and putting in +130mph bullets regularly.
That's not to say they didn't come back the vast majority of the time, but it gave him in general, a good place to attack from.
IIRC, Sinner has lost to Alcaraz in 7 of their last 8 encounters - that's pretty big in the scheme of things I would have thought.
Random, but I found interesting stat that the aussie commentators shared - Nadal V Federer lifetime final score ended up 24 - 16, but Fed won 7 of their last 8 encounters.
My perception of the actual play, was that Sinner played to a very high level, but didn't have a ton of variety.
Alcaraz on the other hand, would give variety a bad name, he was mixing up the shots all over the place, Sinner couldn't know what was coming next.
One of my favourites is when she shapes to make a drop shot, but then just bunts it to the back of the court.
The last 2 years they have picked up two grand slams each, I'd really like to see one or two more players making their way up there to properly challenge. I still have high hopes for Draper - who else is there that looks likely?
I can't see Djok taking another slam title, unless there is the absolute perfect storm - in that Alcaraz and sinner play each other in the quarters/semis, and then one of them get's injured before, or whilst playing him - if either are fit, I don't see them losing to him.
Happy to be proven wrong though.

The seedings will mean Djok is likely to need to beat both of them to win another slam, which I can't see him doing. Best hope is one of them being injured or retiring hurt but then he'll still have the other one to deal with.
Credit to him though for his Grand Slam performances this year. Suspect next year will be his last.

Yes good point, as they will almost certainly be seeded 1 & 2.
He's currently still the 3rd best player, but I wonder how long that will be the case, the top two are forcing everyone else to up their game, so I can see him slowly slipping down the pecking order, and I'd be surprised if he were to make all 4 grand slams semis next year, 2 at most I reckon.

An Egyptian player got a last minute wild card to enter a low ranking international competition in Kenya.
Read the BBC article before watching the clip. You expect that she was a fairly decent club player, just a bit out of her depth against a German pro, but you won’t believe how bad she actually was.

What a pair of semi finals in the men's. Best part of 10 hours between them.
Fair play to Djokovic - not his biggest fan but his toughness and competitive spirit are awe inspiring.
All about who recovers best now. You'd have to favour Alcaraz as the much younger man but we shall see.

I missed the first two sets of the final, but watched the final 2.
I've never been a Djokovic fan, but even I was willing him to at least take it to a 5th set.
I'd be mightily surprised if he goes on for another year, let's see if he has the motivation - his body clearly has a lot of limits now that he has to adhere too, and he's not going to be able to reverse that.
The only chance he has to win a grand slam is if he somehow manages to get to the final without meeting at least one of the big 2.
