My personal thoughts are he shouldnt wear the shirt until his trial has happened

Inevitable I feel. A political decision forced upon the FA.

The big question for me now is whether Terry should even be selected. Not because of the trial, or what he said, but because of where his head is at and his effect on the dressing room.

I cant see why they cant bring the trial forward theres always something hanging over the team before a tournament or the media start digging up shite

It's peeee ceeeee gawwwwn maaaaaaaaad!

It's a sop. 'Nothing has been proved but, nudge, nudge, there is no smoke without fire' thinking. He can wear the shirt but not the armband? Ridiculous. Either he is completely innocent until proven guilty or not. Not a little bit innocent and a little bit guilt.

Oh yeah, and what RichP said. They wouldn't be hoping that the outcome of Euro 2012 would affect the verdict would they?

Is it delayed? Tbh, I have no idea how long it would normally take to bring such a case to court and what factors may or may not have a bearing.

It may be high profile, Yello, but not a heinous crime in the great scheme of things. The maximum penalty if he's found guilty isn't draconian IIRC despite it being an unsavoury offence. I'd have thought that a less famous mix of citizens and it would have been done and susted in a couple of months. I stand to be corrected though.

It took them 8 months to decide whether to charge Huhne. You wouldn't believe the pace that these guys work at -it's the equivalent of taking one day to decide whether to order tea or coffee.

No, I don't know either. For all I know, Terry is being treated exactly as any mere mortal would be. It may be regarded as a 'low order' crime (or somesuch) and scheduled accordingly.

I believe his case was delayed until after the Euro's. If it was the likes of you and I the case would have been heard earlier.

As for whether he should be captain, or even playing, then the answer is no. He's crap.

They should have brought the trial forward.

But then I think he is a despicable idiot so I'm happy with him losing the captaincy.

I'm sure they could have found some space in the football calendar to fit in the trial.

But then again along with Ashley Cole, I don't think he should wear the England shirt on merit anyway. I think most of the players involved in the SA debacle should retire from international football.
