Sat in traffic this evening in the car when a muppet tries to cycle down the inside and takes out the wing mirror, falling onto the pavement

Politely asked him if he was alright and then asked for his details... which he refused as apparently cyclists don't have to give details

No point in arguing so picked his bike up, and photographed the bottom bracket and told a small white lie

He wanted to know why, so I explained that as all bike frame number are registered with the company that I could now trace his bike to the local shop and could get his details from there

It was now his choice to give me his details, or I report it as a hit and run and get the Police to trace him

I now have his details!!!!

Nicely done. I was sat in two lanes of stationary traffic last month when motorcyclist took a lady's car mirror clean off with some of the worst filtering I've ever witnessed he kept riding.
I really hope the lady got his reg, I wish my phone had been within grabbing distance as I would've got out & filmed him riding off between the cars!
I don't wish to be tarred with the same brush as that moron when I'm out on my motorbike.

I don't understand how these people think they can get away with not exchanging details!!

My girlfriends car has only just been repaired after an idiot hit her on a roundabout. At first he pretended nothing had happened carried on like normal even stoping at a red light on the same roundabout! My girlfriend got out & tapped on his window, asked if he was going to deal with the situation and suggested they move out of the way to the B&Q carpark just off the roundabout. He agreed but then proceeded to drive off & entered the M66 as soon as the lights went green.
My girlfriend jumped in her car, caught up & kept flashing her lights at him while calling the police on her hands free. Eventually the idiot pulled over & dealt with it like a normal human. The insurance company couldn't argue that it wasn't his fault as he'd driven into her drivers door +wing & there was a police record of the call.
To be honest I was surprised to discover he was even insured after that, shame he didn't get done for leaving the scene of an accident (or atleast trying to)!

I hate to be the lone dissenter, but two wrongs don't make a right. In other words: getting his contact details under false pretences (i.e. by lying to him) was pretty unethical.
